5 Years and Counting!

Matt and I celebrated 5 years On February 24th and we had a blast! At first I didn’t think we would be able to do much on our Anniversary but thanks to my mom and sister for watching Abby and some last minute planning we were able to get-a-way for the night and it was great.

We went up to the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake City (I definitely recommend it!) after dinner at Olive Garden and stayed in the Sun Valley room. It was really neat because it was decorated like a cozy cabin with a fireplace and outhouse (lol). The shower was a waterfall and it was really cool, probably my favorite room so far (we’ve stayed at the Lighthouse room, The Pirate Ship room, and an Outer Space room).

Earlier that day Matt surprised me with a bike trailer since he knows how much I love biking and now I can take Abby (well once she gets a little bigger. I can’t wait to use it!

On Saturday the 26th we were also able to do a session at the Mount Timpanogos Temple (the temple we were married in) which was even neater because it was in ASL, definitely a new experience for us. After the session we enjoyed some amazing Thai food at one of our favorite Thai restaurants Thai Drift and then did a little shopping spree at Barnes and Noble. Even though all the fun little things we did were great coming home to my baby girl was definitely the highlight of my day!

Seems like just yesterday...

Today Matt and I celebrate our 5-year Anniversary and it's pretty amazing to me how quickly the time has gone by. There have been many up's and down's (though thankfully the up's outweigh the down's) but it's been a great ride and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. I can easily say the highlight of our marriage has been the birth of our baby girl!! She is the light of our lives and we love her so much! I don't know where I would be or what I would be doing right now if I hadn't met Matt but I am so thankful I will never have to know. My life is better because of him. He makes me more happy then I thought I could be and I love him so much! Happy Anniversary baby, you are the greatest thing about me!

Our little cutie!

There are so many cute things Abby does that I don’t want to forget…

She is such a cuddle bug and it’s the cutest thing! If you hold her against your chest she will snuggle right up and be completely content. She much rather have someone hold her then be by herself (it probably doesn’t help that everyone LOVES holding her too!) and she makes herself so nice and cozy! There really isn’t a better feeling then holding her close to me and feeling the unconditional love I have for her.

If we are trying to cook dinner or clean the house we put Abby in this little carrier so she doesn't get upset, she has to be close all the time!

When I noticed this the other night I had to take a pic. Abby LOVES her daddy and he sure loves her! She can fall asleep in any position as long as she is being cuddled.

One of my favorite pics of Matt holding our little baby girl

Momma LOVES holding her baby girl! I pretty much spent my 6 weeks of maternity leave holding her and loving her, she is so perfect!

Abby loves her family! From daddy who loves to spoil her and keeps her smiling, her granny janny who sings to her night and day the cutest songs, her uncle ryry who is always willing to hold her and change her stinky diapers, her uncle ozzie which she will miss so much when he goes on his mission, her aunt chelsie who keeps her looking cute, and her grandpa scott and netters that are so willing to help take care of her whenever mom and dad need a break! Not only does Abby love her family but they love her so much too!

Daddy and Abby, two peas in a pod!

Granny Janny with her favorite grandbaby, they are too cute!

Uncle RyRy loves his little Abby girl! I honestly couldn't ask for a better uncle for Abby.

Abby makes the cutest faces! She scowls, smiles, and can look completely uninterested but does so looking so cute! She makes a laugh all the time with the fun little faces she makes. One of the funniest things is when you try to put a binky in her mouth when she is hungry she looks at you like she is thinking, “you’ve got to be kidding me”. Sometimes we will be holding her and trying to make her smile and she gives us that, “ya it’s not going to happen” look and it’s hilarious! She really is the sweetest and silliest girl I know!

Abby's famous scowl

This is Abby's "I'm not listening t you" face, she only looks like she is asleep. A couple of times now I've noticed out of the corner of my eye her looking at me while I was holding her and when I turn my head to look at her she closes her eyes, such a sneaky girl!

The first smile I caught on camera

A day of "firsts"!

Today was definitely a day of "firsts" for Abby....

It was her "first" time wearing a dress as well as going to church.

She looked SUPER CUTE in her little denim dress and tights!

Daddy loves his little girl, so cute!

It was her "first" time wearing jeans, lol!! I can't believe how freakin cute she looked in her little baby jeans!

And lastly it was her "first" time flippin the bird, naughty girl! Abby is consistently making us laugh!!

One eye down, one more to go!

On Friday (the 18th) Matt underwent cataracts surgery on his left eye. He had been needing to get this surgery since December so it was nice to finally get it done. We woke up bright and early to get over to the surgical center in Provo by 6:30am. (A big thanks to my dad and Annette for watching Abby all day for us!) The surgery took about an hour and he was done! Everything went according to plan and he should be getting the same surgery on his right eye in about 2 weeks. We are pretty excited because it should help his vision a lot!

Matt was just a tad bit nervous

Not the best quality pic but his eye was super dilated and looking pretty creepy!

Right after the surgery Matt got to wear this clear eye patch. He said he felt pretty good just a slight headache.

Valentines Day!

For Valentines this year we kept it pretty low key. We woke up early and exchanged gifts and then my mom watched Abby while we went out to lunch. It was nice just spending the day together and relaxing.

Our gifts...

Matt with his loot...I got him a couple of t-shirts, sugar-free cinnamon bears, and a gift card for his Kindle.

Matt wrote me a really sweet love letter (which for him is a pretty big deal since he isn't too fond of writing down his feelings, definitely the best part of my gift!)

He also got me a couple of movies and a book!

Lunch with the family!

On Saturday (the 12th) my dad's side of the family got together to celebrate birthdays. We met up at the Olive Garden in American Fork and had a ball! The best part about the lunch was that a lot of my family got to see Abby for the first time. It's always fun showing Abby off, especially if it's for the first time!

Abby's first photo shoot...

Thanks to my amazing friend Ashley, Abby had her first photo shoot and I think the pics turned out great! I can't decide which one is my favorite, what do you think?!
