Austin's Farewell!

It's pretty hard for me to believe my baby brother Ozzie (aka Austin) is already old enough to go on a mission. He's just growing up to fast!! He had his farewell on Sunday, September 18th and he gave an amazing talk! He made everyone laugh and right after his talk all the young men sang "Called to Serve" which made everyone tear up. After sacrament we had a big farewell party at my mom's and it was so awesome to see everyone and catch up. I am so proud of my baby bro, Elder Austin James Bergera. Can't believe he will be leaving to Madagascar in just under a month. Love ya bro!

With my baby girl getting bigger and smarter every day I decided I better take a moment to write about what she is up to....

First off, my baby has 5 teeth now! I still find it hard to believe she is getting big enough for teeth let alone, 5! She has three on bottom (front two and one on her right side) and two on top (not the middle two but the next two back). She is teething like crazy now and though she is a little more fussy then she has been before she is still so silly and funny and just LOVES smiling and laughing and talking!

Abby is EVERYWHERE now days! She is crawling all over the place, up and down stairs (with supervision mind you) from this room to that room, getting into everything, making a mess and though I don't really love cleaning up after her (like that will ever end, lol!) I LOVE that my baby girl is growing and getting so smart and just loves to explore.

Some of the fun things that makes Abby laugh...
  • When we imitate dog or cat sounds
  • Singing to her and making goofy faces while we do it
  • Tickling her! She is so ticklish (just like her daddy) and I love it!!!
  • Peek-a-boo or hide-in-seek, she espeically loves it when her daddy puts a sheet on her head and Abby will pull it off and we say "Boo!"
  • One of our newest games is I will hold Abby and look around and say, "Where is my Abby?" and she will smile and almost laugh and then I look at her and say, "There she is!" and she will just laugh and laugh and laugh!! I love it!
She is just so much fun and Matt and I know we are so incredibly blessed to have her in our life. She makes the sun rise and fall for us and brings so much joy. Matt and I joke about how good she looks in yellow with her blond hair but really she is our sunshine and we just don't how we got so lucky. We love you Abby girl!

Back In The Day...

I am making a book for Abby for Christmas about how her parents met and wanted to put a couple of photos of me and Matt as kids. Here are a few from way back when...

This photo is from 1989, not sure what's going on but I am having a blast!

This picture is my first day of school, 1990. Can't believe its been over 20 years now.

This is from my 7th birthday, 1992. I sure loved that bike!

Christmas 1994, I was addicted to Bugs Bunny, lol!

8 Months Old!

Yup my baby girl is 8 months old, how crazy is that?! The last 8 months have seriously flown by. It's so weird for me to even look at newborns now and imagine my baby girl was once that small.

Abby is just growing and getting smarter every day! She has completely mastered standing on her own as long as she is holding on to something, or when she is really concentrated she can stand all by her self for a few seconds. She is crawling ALL OVER THE PLACE and just loves to explore everything. She loves making everyone smile and loves playing "Where's Abby?" I still can't believe how lucky I am to have such a beautiful and caring little baby girl. I love you Abby Ruth!

The Labor Day Parade!

Labor Day weekend in Payson is sort of a big deal. We have our annual Onion Days which consists of a carnival, parade, baby photo contest (which yes Abby did enter but did not win, what's up with that?), and many, many more festivities. With Matt having to work every Labor Day since we got married (except this one) we really haven't gotten that into the celebrations. This year we went to Las Vegas for Labor Day to spend time with Matt's folks and brother but on Monday we got home in time for Abby and I to join my family at the Labor Day parade. I haven't been to the parade for quite awhile but I definitely want to make a new tradition of it, we had so much fun!

Vegas Weekend!

On Saturday September 3rd at the crack of dawn (or very close to it) Matt, Abby, Matt's brother Aaron, and I went down to Vegas to spend the weekend with Matt's parents. Since Matt's parents live in California we don't get the opportunity to see them as much as we would like. We definitely want Abby to spend more time with her grandparents (and we like them pretty well too) so we decided to take advantage of the Labor Day weekend and the fact that Matt and I had Labor Day off and decided to meet half way in Vegas and just have a fun time.

Abby did awesome on the drive down, she is such a good girl! Once we got to Vegas we decided we were hungry! We went to the South Pointe Hotel for a buffet and it was pretty tasty! Mostly though I enjoyed seeing Abby and her grandparents interact, nothing is better then that! Abby was a little bit hesitant of her grandparents since she doesn't get to see them very much but after a little warming up she did awesome.

After lunch we decided to see some of the sights and though we didn't really wanna go to the strip just because its so crowded and sleazy we decided to go to M&M World and Cocoa-Cola World which were on the strip. It was nice though cause they are both very family-friendly which was good. We enjoyed drinking cokes from around the world (Abby is drinking a mint-flavored coke from England, very different but good too!) and then enjoyed some yummy coconut flavored M&M's from M&M World. We had such a fun time!

After enjoying some of the sights we came back to the hotel and chilled! Abby, grandma, and I went swimming and just had so much fun! It was so nice being with family that we don't get to see very often. I wish we could have spent more time with Matt's folks but sadly we had to leave early Monday morning. Before we left though I took some fun photos of Abby with her uncle Aaron and Abby just being a cutie!!

Abby fell asleep while holding on to these beads, so funny!!
