12 Moments of 2012

As I look back at the AMAZINGNESS that was 2012 these "12 Moments of 2012" stand out the most...

1. In January we celebrated Abby's 1-year birthday! Still can't believe how blessed we are to have such an amazing little girl. We had family and friends over to celebrate the big day with yummy cupcakes and sugar cookies and enjoyed watching Abby open presents and eat her home-made monkey cake. Too much fun!

2. In February we celebrated 6 years of marriage, where as the time gone? We enjoyed the celebration by going up to Logan for a night. We went to the Logan temple (a first for both of us), and then out to eat at a yummy Mexican restaurant called Cafe Sabor, then enjoyed the rest of the night in our Presidential Suite with jetted hot tub included. What a perfect way to celebrate!

3. In March we took Abby on her second trip to Moab for my family's annual Moab Madness retreat. The highlight of the trip was definitely taking Abby swimming, my little girl is such a fish! She could seriously go swimming for hours and hours, she had so much fun!

4. In April we enjoyed celebrating Easter! It was fun this year because we were able to "hide" Easter eggs and watch Abby find them, she did a good job too.  It's so much fun spoiling our little girl and Easter is definitely a good excuse to do it!

5. In May not only did I get to celebrate my 27th birthday but we also were able to take both Abby and my brother Ryan to San Francisco to visit Matt's family and meet our new niece Adelaide. We visited with family, did some site-seeing and just all-around had fun. Definite high-light of the trip was watching Abby play with all her cousins.

6. In June I got up the nerve to cut Abby's hair for the first time, it was a success! I had never touched it with scissors until then and it was high time. The back was getting pretty shaggy and it just needed to be evened up. I think it turned out pretty cute and am quite proud of how it turned out, especially since I am not a hairdresser in the slightest!

7. In July...drum roll...we officially found out we are going to be welcoming baby #2 into our family! After only a month of trying we found out we are expecting. It was quite a surprise too because it took us over two years to get pregnant with Abby, we expected it to take a little longer but were super happy and excited that this time things came a little bit faster! Our little baby will be due in March and we can't wait!

8. In August we had the opportunity to take Abby to both Lagoon and the Zoo for the first time. Though she was a little small to really enjoy them I think she had fun. It was good to have some fun family memories and even though it was super hot outside we had a fun time!

9. In September we were able to hear baby #2 heartbeat for the first time. One thing about the first trimester is there isn't a whole lot of exciting things going on. It's always exciting to listen to the heartbeat!

10. In October we had one of our most exciting things happen, we found out that in March we would be welcoming a baby BOY to our family! We were so excited to announce that little Liam Gray DeGriselles would be joining our family and making Abby a very proud big sister!

11. In November Matt got a promotion at his work Amber Alert GPS and a much-needed raise. We are so proud of Matt and how hard he works!

12. And lastly in December we had the opportunity to spend Christmas in California with Matt's side of the family which was a first for Abby. Though it was little tough with an almost two year-old we had so much fun visiting family, enjoying good food and opening Christmas presents. Also this month Matt graduated from Utah Valley University with his bachelors degree in Accounting, way to go Matt!

Christmas 2012!

We had such a wonderful and BUSY Christmas this year!

We started things off by having our Christmas with my mom and my sister Chelsie and brother Ryan on Saturday, December 22nd. Matt, Abby, and myself headed to California later that day so we decided to get a little head start with our Christmas festivities. It was so much fun seeing the difference in Abby with last year and this year. She was opening presents and having fun passing out presents as well. She was also a little stinker some of the time and we had to put her down for a nap at one point. Next year should be even funner with Abby almost 3 and little Liam 9 months old!

I drew this picture for my mom, I think she liked it!

One of Matt's most expensive presents was this frame for his Bachelors degree (which will probably get here in a couple of weeks). I am excited to see how his degree looks in and how it looks hanging up in his new office at work.

Abby got this new baby doll which she loves! The first thing we asked her when she opened it was what was baby's name and she said "baby Liam", it was too funny!

Matt had the idea to get Abby this tricycle and she loves it! Matt did his research to make sure she got the best little tricycle and it is perfect!

Later that day we headed out to California to enjoy Christmas with Matt's side of the family. Out of the eight Christmas's we have celebrated together we have only been to Matt's families house I think two or three times. It was definitely time for us to visit them again. It also helped that we were able to get so much time off from work. We stayed in St. George Saturday night (December 22nd) and then arrived in California on Sunday (December 23rd). We enjoyed the next couple of days catching up with family, watching Abby play with her cousins Luke (6), Leona (4), Emma-Lee (almost 2), and Addie (almost 1) and enjoying some good food! We even saw The Hobbit on Wednesday. We headed back home on Thursday (December 27th) to a snow storm, no fun! I enjoyed the warm California weather a little too much I think.

A couple of videos from our trip to California...

It was a busy week but such a fun week as well! Now only two more months until we get to celebrate our little Liam joining our family, we can't wait!

Weeks 27, 28, & 29!
