A Very Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas this year was amazing! We spent the Saturday before Christmas (the 22nd)visiting with my Dad's side of the family in the morning and my Mom's side of the family that evening which was lots and lots of fun! Unfortunately Matt had to work on Christmas Eve, he was able to get off by 5 so that was good! I spent the day with my Mom and my little brother Austin…we went up to my Grandpa Bergera’s house in American Fork and he took us out to lunch. My brother Ryan also had to work but he was able to come out to lunch with us so that was good!

After that we went back to my Mom’s house and my sister Chelsie and her boyfriend Wes came over and we played cards and ate goodies (and more goodies and more goodies until we were about to pop!) We watched a couple of Christmas movies as we waited for Matt and Ryan to come home. Luckily they both didn’t have to work too late, but by the time they got off it was a blizzard! We were all a little worried about them getting down to my mom’s safely (epically Ryan with his little Chevy Cavalier) thankfully they both made it down safe and sound! That night we did our traditional opening of our Christmas P.J.'s which is always fun, and then we watch a movie depicting the Nativity Scene which always brings gratitude and reverence to us before we go to bed.

The next morning we were up by 6 a.m. (not my idea) opening presents and having fun, laughing and just being silly! It was really an wonderful Christmas all around, I couldn’t ask for a better one! That night Matt and I went back to our apartment and were able to open all the gifts his parents had brought a week earlier (they were nice enough to come visit us on the 15th and 16th since we were unable to go out to Cali this year). I am just so full of happiness this time of the year, I love being with my family, playing cards or just visiting, it’s my favorite part of the Christmas Season!

Just missing my hubby...

Well it's officially Christmas Season! I've got all my presents for Matt bought and wrapped! We also bought and wrapped all the families presents so we are all ready to go! It's very very fun to be back into the holiday spirit!

This year I am reading St. Luke all 24 chapters each day up to the 24th of December to help me have the spirit of the true reason of the Christmas season, and I must admit its been amazing! I feel very blessed to have the scirptures in my life and the freedoms to read them. Right now I am reading about he miracles Jesus performed and it just brings tears to my eyes, I'm so entirely grateful for the Savior, or my Savior Jesus Christ, for the example that he led in his life that I too can follow! I pray that asw I read teh scriptures more and continue to pray night and day that I may Come Unto Christ!

I've been reading the Book of Mormon and the main theme thus far that I have read is: "Come Unto Christ". There are numerous scriptures that say to "Come Unto Christ" or "Come Unto Him". One of my favorites is:

"For he is the same yesterday, today, and forever; and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that hey repent and Come Unto Him." ~ 1Nephi 10:18

I love this scripture. I love how its just to the point but more then that I love how comforting it is. It speaks to me, Brittany DeGriselles, it tells me that I can repent and Come Unto Christ, for the way is prepared for me! Such an amazing and lifting scripture. I feel like in this Christmas Season we all need to come a little closer to the Lord and give thanks for not only his humble birth but his amazing life and miracles and repentance, and lastly his atoning sacrifice, for the remission of my sins and sins of the world. I know that as long as I repent, have a pure love of Christ, faith in him, and I strive to serve him always I can return to be with him again! It's just amazing his love for me and his love for all God's children!

One sad this about this Christmas Season is that matt is way for training. The good thing is he comes home on the weekends so its not too bad. Matt leaves every Monday morning and goes to West Valley 9about 30-45 mins north) and stays up there until Friday, he drives home Friday nights and it just so happens to be Friday today! So I am excited to see my hubby very soon! This is his second week training, he has two more weeks up north, then two weeks back here, and then two more weeks up north. He should be finished by January 17th. The training is to become an Assistant Manager at Wal-Mart. We are both very excited about the promotion, he has been working very hard for over a year for it and so it's nice to see the hard work pay off! With the promotion Matt's salary almost doubles so we are very excited about that! I do miss him a lot right now, the longest we have been apart was 2-3 days and so not seeing him for 4-5 days is very hard. I miss sleeping next to him and cuddling with him. I miss his voice and laughter and i can't wait to see him again in just a few hours! I get to spend the whole weekend with him and couldn't be happier! Matt makes my whole world smile and brings so much joy to me. I love him more with each and everyday!

Thanksgiving Time!

For Thanksgiving this year we did the usually Thanksgiving Day Dinner at my Grandpa's house. It's so much fun having Thanksgiving dinner with my family. We enjoyed good food and even better company!

The following day we enjoyed Thanksgiving at my mom's house. It's been really fun having two Thanksgivings, the more food the merrier right?!

I love my family so much and I am so thankful for them!

Catching Up!

I've been reading a lot from my journal from several years ago and I just haven't describe the gratitude I have for my Savior in how the last two years of my life have been the best two year of my life! It's like night and day difference to me in my life before and after I met Matt. He has helped me grow considerable and I think him for that. I know that the Lord has blessed me for keeping the commandments and trying to Come Unto Christ.

I thought this would be a good opportunity to write about how my friends and family are doing and what's going on in their life:

As far as Me and Matt, I am still working at Synergy World Wide as a Customer Service Rep. IN December I will have worked here for 2 years! I really enjoy my job and the off time I have to write and read in this journal and scrapbook and read. My work is only 10 minutes from our apartment (the same apartment we got after getting married) and its so nice having our home so close! Matt (as I mentioned before) is starting training next week to become a mager. He is taking an online class and its going well.

My mom and youngest brother Austin are living in Payson. My mom works for Utah Valley Regional Center (a hospital in Provo) and Austin is a sophomore this year. Next yera he will get his drivers license, how crazy! Chelsie is working in Springville as a teacher in elementary school and lives with her boyfriend Wes Taylor. Ryan graduated this year and is working adn living in American Fork with my grandpa Bergera. Ryan works at the movie house and is living in my old room at my grandpa's house which is kind of funny. My dad recently remarried. I attended the wedding and though it felt so surreal I am glad he is happy.

As far as Matt's family goes, his mom and dad still live in Big Bear, California with their youngest Tim who graduates next year. Aaron the second oldest lives in Redlands and goes to school, Danielle the third youngest lives nearby in Riverside and also goes to school. Thom, the third oldest and Sarah (his wife) lives father north in California with my cute little nephew Luke (who is 1 1/2) and Sarah is expecting! I'm so excited to be an aunt all over again!! And last but not least Allison and her hubby Tim (Allison is the second youngest) live up near Thom and Sarah in San Jose. They are both in school as well.

As for my friends Ashley and her husband Jacob Biggers live up in Bountful, Ut. She is working as an interior designer. Kathy and Greg Hodgson live in Springville and she is in school working to become a nurse. Sadly I really don't talk to Nikelle much, last I heard she is living in Orem and working as a receptionist. The one thing that getting married has done (for all my friends) is kind of drove us apart in a sense. Three years ago, heck even two years ago we were the tightest group of girls but since the three of us got married it seems like we hardly get to see each other which is sad but I think its just a part of life and moving on. Ashley and I probably stay the closest, we e-amil at work everyday so its nice to say in contact. We had the opportunity to hang out in September when I stayed in Salt Lake City for my works annual convention. It's just always good to catch up with old friends, sad that we aren't as close but it's ok.

Well I hope that keeps you caught up to November 2007. Christmas is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited to spend the special holiday with my baby! I feel so content right now, happy to be alive! Thank you Lord for the blessings I have and the love I have!

Time To Give Thanks!

As I was getting ready this morning I decided that I should write today. Not a whole lot has happened lately except one little tid-bit...Matt has been promoted! Matt has been an intern for over a year and ever since the beginning of the summer he has been trying to get promoted so its such a blessing that he is finally going to become an assistant.

He has eight weeks of training before it's official, the training is up in West Valley about 40 minutes north so not to bad, he will be up there Monday thru Friday and then back here on the weekends. It will be way different not seeing him everyday and not sleeping next to him every night but I am just so grateful for this opportunity for Matt and our family. Once he begins training on November 26th (only six days away) he gets a $7 raise from $11 an hour to $18 so we are very excited about that! Then when training is over mid January and he is an official Assistant Manager he will go from an hourly associate to a salary associate.

I know Matt is so excited, its something he has worked very hard for and I'm so thankful for this amazing blessing in our life! Since Matt will be gone for eight weeks we have been released from our calling as WeBeLos leaders. It was a really good calling for us and I'm grateful we could serve it for almost a year and half, but I have to admit I'm a little grateful we could pass the torch to new leaders, those boys can be a hand full!

Well it's been a very good month for me and Matt, I'm so grateful for my husband and all he does for me. I will miss him so much but I know it will be okay.Thanksgiving is almost here and I love giving thanks! Thanks to my love, thanks to my Lord, and thanks to my God for all the blessings I have!

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween Matt and I enjoyed the evening at my Mom's house down in Payson. We ordered Pizza, I made some home-made Sugar Cookies, and we watch scary movies...what else could you ask for? Though we really didn't "dress-up" Matt did wear a spooky Jack O'Lantern shirt (which someone else in my family wore too...hehe...twiners!) and I wore a shirt with a skull on it (ok I wore it last year too so I guess I really don't get any creativity points) and that's about as dressed up as we got. Overall it was a very fun Halloween!

Right now Matt and I are experiencing a trial of sorts. Matt has been told by his work that he will be promoted to an Assistant Manager probably close to two months ago but nothing has happened. They keep telling him one thing and another thing actually happens. He is getting very frustrated over the whole thing. The only thing I can think of to help him is to pray for the Lord for comfort and pray that Matt's work can see his hard work and promote him. I'm trying not to be selfish though and to try to understand the Lord's will in this trail and be grateful for the many blessings we have. I know we have been blessed with so much and I think that maybe we are going through this trail to teach us patience and to be humble. I just pray that we can hear some good news from Matt's work. I know that the Lord will bless us no matter what happens. I have a strong testimony of tithing, we pay tithing every payday and I know because of this we need not fear finical problems. I love my Lord and thank him for my blessings, and I pray that he may hear our pleas and help us through this time as he has helped us through all the trials we have faced. Thank you my Lord, I love you!

It's about time!

I have never read (all the way through that is) the Book of Mormon and I feel its high-time for me to finally read it and gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon for myself. I've tried in the past to read it but just never could get all the way through. But I feel very determined to take the down time in my day to read from the scriptures and 1) have the spirit stronger in my life 2) gain a stronger testimony of scripture study and the Book of Mormon and 3) start a habit of reading the scriptures regularly and personally with my family. I really can't see any negative things coming out of reading the scriptures so why don't I do it?!

I pray the Lord will hear my cries to help me be better at reading the scriptures daily , pondering the meaning of what I read, and writing down what has impacted me through out my day. I look forward to gaining a testimony and understanding the importance of the scriptures in my life. I want to pass down to my children these importance but I know first I must do this for myself. I thank the Lord for his guidance with me through this journey and for all he has blessed me with.

Matt's B-day!

This year to celebrate Matt's big 3-1 (on October 2nd) we went out to dinner with my family at Red Robins one of our favorite restaurants (we had our first date there). It was a blast!

This year instead of doing presents we decided to go shopping together. So for Matt's b-day I gave him a little cash and we spent the day shopping. He bought a couple of movies, and ipod player for his car.
We then went out to lunch at GoodWood BBQ another one of our favorites. Throughout the day I gave him little pieces of paper that said "31 Reasons Why I Love You!" with each piece telling Matt one reason why I love him (duh!) He liked it a lot so it was definitely fun for me to see him smile as he read each one.

Later that night I made him German Chocolate Cake (its kind of a funny story because I made him the cake late and so I didn't give it enough time to cool before putting the candles in it...and well the wax on the candles melted into the cake! We'll just say it was quite different pulling the wax out of the cake as we ate it!) but Matt enjoyed it and so that made me happy. He seemed to have a wonderful birthday and I couldn't ask for anything more!

Mom and Dad D. decided to visit this last weekend for Matt's b-day and to see conference. They made it out here on Friday the 5th, we went out to dinner and just were so excited to see them. It was good to catch up and talk and see how things were going. Saturday morning we listened to the 177th General Conference via radio as we drove to SLC to watch the afternoon session at the Conference Center. When we got there it was pouring cats and dogs and we met up with Danielle and sat in the balcony seats for Conference.

I just have to say it was an amazing experience.I have never gone to Conference before (though I have been to the Conference Center) and the huge auditorium where Conference is held is just breathtaking! Listening to the Lord's servants preach the gospel was something I will never forget. One the the Elders form the Quorum of the Twelves, Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin gave a talk bout about what sets us Mormons apart and during his talk which was very moving in itself, Elder Wirthlin began to shake from Parkinsons and what was so touching was Elder Russel M. Nelson stood up besides Elder Wirthlin as a support for him and though he was in pain he continued his talk. I thought it was very touching that he finished his talk and the spirit was felt there. After Conference we headed back to Orem where mom bought Matt and I grocery's which was very gracious of her. We are very thankful for our family and the things they do for us!

On Sunday we listened to Conference again and then all four of us went to my mom's house in Payson to enjoy the evening there. My mom had to work so we got dinner ready and when she got home we enjoyed hamburgers, pasta, and chips as two families spend the evening together.

Mom and Dad D. took off on Monday and I jut have to say how grateful I am that they could come visit and spend time with us. I am also so grateful that I am sealed to my family and I am sealed to my most amazing and beautiful husband Matt! Matt is the light of my life and I thank the Lord everyday for bringing him into my life over two years ago. I have a strong testimony of family and I know the Lord has blessed me with an amazing and wonderful family!
