Tasty!

So a couple weeks ago I created a sugar cookie website Sprinkles 'n Frosting where you can order some yummy homemade cookies with various designs and shapes for any event or occasion. So far I have done Hawaiian themed flower cookies, a plaid print for my cousins bagpipe band, and last night I made some "Missionary" sugar cookies for a coworker whose son is serving in El Salvador. I think they turned out pretty cute...

Bridal Veil Falls...

So in an act of complete spontaneity last night, Matt and I decided to go hike up around Bridal Veil Falls (well it wasn't much of a hike, more like a nice calming walk in the mountains) and it was really fun. Matt and I are kind of home bodies. We enjoy cuddling on a warm cozy couch watching a movie and eating popcorn (or whatever we have on hand) but we decided it would be nice to get out of the house for a little bit. We decided to go up to Bridal Veil Falls (up Provo Canyon about a 15 min drive from our house) and decided to take our new CamelBak's to get a little use in them before our trip to Moab on Friday (YEA!). It was so nice to be outdoors, to feel the sunshine on our faces (luckily we got there as the sun was getting ready to set so it wasn't too hot), and to just spend some much needed time together was amazing! Here are some photos from our little "hike"...

(This is a pic at the parking lot as we were getting ready to go on our hike)

Introducing Hayden Jacob Biggers...

So one of my best friends Ashley (Walters) Biggers and her hubby Jacob welcomed a brand-spaken new addition to their family on August 18th and I couldn't be more excited for them! Ashley and I have been friends since 10th grade and I can easily say she is one of the closest friends I have ever had. We have made some freakin hilarious and unforgettable memories over the last 8 years and I am so grateful to have her as my bud! Ashley was even one of my bride maids, she has always been there for me through thick and thin and I am so grateful to have her in my life! When she told me she was going to have a little boy a couple months ago I was ecstatic! I could always see Ashley being an amazing mother and was so happy for her! I got a text from her on Monday (the 18th) that little Hayden Jacob Biggers has been welcomed to the world. I was absolutely thrilled! After they get things settled in Matt and I will head up and visit her and see the little cutie for ourselves, until then we have some pictures to tie us over...

What a freakin cutie!

Camelbaks 101

So I am getting really super stinkin excited about our Moab trip coming up on the 29th! So excited that we decided to buy some camelbak's last night at REI's. We have wanted to get one ever since Matt's brother Aaron brought his to Disneyland in June. It was ideal! We stuck all our goodies in the back pack part, had nice refreshing drinks all day, and it just fit so nice on his back and out of the way. We figured since we want to do a lot of hiking while we are down in Moab (probably just around Arches) we better get a camelbak to make things a million times easier. So last night after we visited with Aaron a little bit and got a 15% discount from him (thanks bro!) we headed over to REI in Sandy and looked around for the perfect camelbak. We found a nice black one that looked like a regular back pack with the hydration system we thought would be pretty ideal for the both of us to share...that was until we came upon some of the camelbaks made just for biking and we had to reconsider the black one we looked at. After a little thinking we decided to splurge a little and we got Matt and myself one...we are such stinkers! Here is a picture of the ones we got...

So if you couldn't already tell, Matt's camelbak is the orange and black one. Matt loves the color orange so it worked out perfect that we found this one for him. I really liked this beige one, it's so neutral in color it matches pretty much anything and fit really nice as well. They are both smaller then the black one we looked at which is perfectly fine because it still has a lot of room to store goodies, a light jacket, our ipods, our camera, and anything else we can think of. And the nice thing is we can use these for years to come for Disneyland trips, fourwheeling down at our cabin, exploring Southern Utah in a couple of weeks, and maybe we can get some mountain bikes a little later and do some more exploring. It's always nice to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, hopefully these camelbaks will help motivate us a little more to do so!

Moab 2008!!!

So every year my family has their annual Moab get-a-way in the spring but this year Matt wasn't able to go...very very sad! Well it looks like we are finally getting our Moab trip for 2008! YEA! Matt has the last weekend of the month off (ya it's quite rare for him) so we are living it up and going to Moab! My AMAZING aunt Emily lives down there and they manage Comfort Suites so we are headed down south and having a blast! I am not 100% sure what we are going to do but just to get away from everything will be a exactly what we need. We will head down Friday the 29th (and sadly miss my 5-yr high school reunion) and then come back home that Sunday (the 31st). If you couldn't tell I am SUPER EXCITED! With work and school it's been hard for us to get out of town for even a weekend so this should be a blast! Bring on the SUNSHINE!

Cookies!

Ever since I was really young I have loved making cookies! I enjoy making chocolate chip cookies, snikerdoodles, but my favorite to make (and eat) are sugar cookies! I decided to start taking pictures of some of the fun designs I have made. Hopefully as time goes by I can get even better and have more really cute cookies to show off! Here are just a couple I have made...

(These are some Halloween cookies I made (obviously) I think in the future I will try to make the orange a little darker and maybe find some smaller chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth but I think they turned out cute.)

(For Easter I made these cookies, besides being pink and having cute sprinkles I don't think they really remind me of Easter but they were sure yummy! lol)

(A girl at my work is going to Hawaii (the stinker!) so for her last day we decided to throw her a Hawaiian Luau potluck. I thought it would be fun to bring cookies and so I tried to decorate them to look "Hawaiian" as much as possible. This is the first time I made designs on the cookies with frosting and it was really fun! I put some pink and yellow frosting in separate zip-lock baggies and cut a hole at the bottom corner. It was really easy after that making the designs. The neat thing is every time I make cookies I learn something new and fun to try!)

Hey if your interested in maybe trying some of these amazing cookies out for yourself check out my cookie website (ya I am nerd I know!) at...http://sprinklesnfrosting.blogspot.com/. Thanks!

A pretty decent weekend...

On Saturday Matt and I had to opportunity to go up Payson Canyon and spend some time with my family. My Mom's side of the family was having their annual Olson Family Reunion up Payson Lakes so we decided to stop by and have dinner. Matt has only been up Payson Canyon one time and I didn't get the chance to take him to Payson Lakes so I made sure this time I took him to at least one of the lakes. I forgot to bring my camera so we took a picture with my cell phone (hence the reason it's not the best quality). Overall we had a really good time hanging out with the family, walking down to the lake, and spending time together!
On Sunday Matt and I had Matt's brother Aaron over to our apartment. We watched "Eureka" and ate some yummy enchiladas Matt made and sugar cookies I made. We talked about this and that, it was a really good day! For the last couple of months Matt has had to work from Saturday night at 8pm to Sunday morning at 8am and so for most of Sunday Matt is sleeping, it was really nice waking up next to him and going to church, and spending the WHOLE day with a conscious Matt. I couldn't ask for a better weekend!

My lil bro's Sweet 16...how precious!

Yesterday was my youngest brother, Austin's, 16th b-day...they grow up too fast! On Wednesday the family took him out to dinner to Los Hermanos (yummy!!) and I would have posted the pictures yesterday but I forgot my camera (ya I can be a ditz every once in awhile!) but I remembered it today and have a couple fun pics to post!

(Oz holding up his loot)

(We got Oz some sweet pants...ya they are the tight ones the kids now where but hey it's what he wanted)

(This is the b-day card Chelsie and Wes gave Oz, I thought it was pretty stinkin hilarious!)

(Matt and I...Matt looks so tired poor guy, he had just woke up when we went out to dinner...another reason I don't like his graveyard shift and can't wait for it to be over)

Happy Friday!

I just wanted to say...HAPPY FRIDAY! This week has gone by sooooo stinkin slow that I am just so relieved and excited it's finally Friday! Not to mention that my excitement also stems from the fact that it's Matt's last day working graveyards and he has tomorrow and Sunday off....and we have my Olson Family Reunion this weekend, which should be a blast!
