How big this week? (round 2)

It's been really fun this pregnancy to do some of the same things we did with Abby. For starters when I was pregnant with Abby I posted this chart that showed the size of the Abby compared to fruit. It was really fun for us to see how much she changed from week to week. Well I very quickly looked up the chart again so we could track "baby degi" and even more fun is telling Abby about how big her baby is.

Last week (week 7) baby degi was the size of a blueberry. Shortly after I found his out Matt went to the store and bought a thing of blueberries (his favorite). I thought what a cool way to show Abby how big her baby is. I put the blueberry in the palm of my hand and told Abby, "This is how big your baby is" to which she promptly grabbed the blueberry with her mouth and ate it. It surprised me so much I exclaimed, "You ate the baby!" to which she laughed and laughed and laughed. It was one of the funniest things. She insisted I do it again and again and pretty soon all the blueberry's were gone and Abby was having the time of her life. Well yesterday I got some grapes and as soon as Abby saw them she put one in my hand and ate it up right quick and laughed. I siad, "You ate the baby!" again and she thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Abby makes me laugh so hard! She is the smartest and silliest baby ever!

Our baby isn't gonna be the baby for long...

Yup, it's true! We are so excited to announce that we will be welcoming a brand new baby the beginning of March! We can't wait for "baby degi" to join our little family!

Swimming!

This last Saturday, July 14th, we had the opportunity to visit some family up in Salt Lake City and go swimming! We visited my aunt Cathy and her two cute kids Riley and Scotty and we had a ball! They even took us swimming and we had so much fun!

Grandma's Camp 2012!

Every year all the my aunts on my mom's side have their annual "Grandma Camp" where they get all their grandkids and spend a weekend having a ball! They make it extra fun by doing themed camps...last year it was "Rock and Roll":

And this year is what "Out of this World"! It was so much fun for all the kids to be little aliens and they had a hoot! Abby had so much fun playing with all her cousins and I am so glad we all live so close.

Abby and her alien hair, lol!

18-Months Old!

Abby girl is already 18 months old and she is a hoot! At her 18-month appointment she measured 27lbs (92nd percentile), 33" (85th percentile), and her head circumference measured 19.2" (97th percentile). Every day she is making me laugh and I can't believe how silly she is. Just the other day she had this long, drawn-out yawn that just made me laugh and once she noticed that she just kept yawning and yawing just to get me to laugh, it was one of the cutest things ever! She follows me around everywhere (and maybe it's because I work and I don't get to see her as much as I like) but I love it! She as mastered climbing in and out of her crib and now she can climb on top of her changing table. I swear she would climb on the roof if we let her. She is amazing and beautiful and just the best thing to ever happen to us!

4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July this year! Matt and I both had the day off and we decided to be as lazy as possible, lol! We've had a couple of long weeks with being sick and stressed and all that fun stuff so we decided to spend the holiday just relaxing at home and keeping it on the lazy side. Our one bit of excitement for the day was going to my aunt Mary's annual 4th of July BBQ. We've been doing this since I was little and it's fun being able to take Abby now. We enjoyed some good BBQ and spending time catching up with our family, good times!

Getting too big for her crib...

Whether I like it or not my baby is growing up. You would think she would need her mom's permission but not so. It's been really fun because every night Matt will read to me and Abby (right now we are reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief). Abby is not one to just quietly lay in her bed and listen to her daddy reading, so usually we just let her lay down by us on the floor and when she needs to run off some energy she can do so. Well last night she had a bit too much energy cause she was non-stop. Half-way through the reading we started to notice that Abby was very determined to climb into her crib. We both didn't think she would be able to do, and then just like that she did! What a smart girl!

My little climber, lol! She sure surprised us!! (7/2/2012)

Well if it wasn't enough for her to climb into her crib she decided it was time to climb out! As you watch the video it looks like she falls right on her back but there was pillows and stuffed animals so it actually wasn't as bad as it looked though it did scare us pretty good! (7/2/2012)

We weren't sure what to do now that our little girl can both climb into her crib out and out of her crib now. I had raised the "bars" as high as they could go and was worried that this meant Abby would have to get a big girl bed, and between you and me I knew she was not ready for one. Well my mom suggested we lower the mattress but I didn't even think it could do that. Well leave it to the wisdom of those who have done it before cause I was able to lower the mattress and keep Abby in her crib for at least a couple more months, lol.

Abby's first 5k!

On Saturday (June 30th) Chelsie, Abby, myself, my aunt Karen, my cousin Stacie and her kids Lindsey, Caimbre, Jake and Trevor and my cousin Tara went on a fun 5k up in Elk Ridge and we had a blast! It was the first official 5k Chelsie, Abby and myself have been in and we had so much fun! We walked the whole thing, lol, but we had fun and that's all that matters! I have this really cool jogging stroller that Matt got me last year and I was so amped to use it but the morning of the race the tire was flat and would not hold any air. So alas I had to use the cheap wal-mart stroller you see below but it still worked good.  We had such a fun time and it's definitely something I wanna do again!
