Easter!

This Easter Matt and I had a blast! We started our day out by sleeping in and it was soooo nice! We rarely have the chance to sleep in so it was definitely a treat for us. We gave each other our Easter baskets first thing that morning (Matt had been wanting to give me my Easter basket since last week so first thing he did when I woke up was get everything ready so we could open them). Matt got me so much stuff, he spoils me way too much!! I got a couple of DVD's, some "cube people" (http://www.consoleup.com/shop/images/12_cubes.jpg) that are really fun and silly and just a hoot, he also got me an itunes card (I got him one too!) but I think my favorite thing he got me was a Book of Mormon side-by-side commentary that gives little insights to different scriptures in the Book of Mormon that will come in really handy. Overall Matt got me some amazing stuff but like I said I think he spoils me too much! I got Matt some fun stuff too…I got him a couple DVD's, a book that he's been eyeing (History of the English Language, a copy from 1935!), an itunes card, a book called “500 Unknown Mormon Facts”, and some brain teasers that stumped him for a bit…overall I think he really enjoyed what he got so I am glad! After we opened got our baskets we had the opportunity to have lunch up in Salt Lake with my Dad's side of the family which was nice and very yummy! We were able to catch up and just relax so all around a good time. After lunch Matt and I were able to attend our new ward together for the first time and we were even recognized as new members in the ward so we had to stand up (how fun...not!) but ya it wasn't bad. Now we'll just see if they ask us to speak in sacrament, we'll keep our fingers crossed they don't…hehe! The meeting was very nice and definitely got us more in the Easer Spirit! After Church we got ready for our Easter Dinner with my Mom and youngest brother Austin (sadly my other brother Ryan had to work) we decided to make Lasagna so I got that ready while Matt made up some veggies. The day before I made some yummy sugar cookies (I admit I ate WAY too many! Evil temptations!!) for dessert. Overall it was a very yummy dinner but I think just spending time with my family was the best part!

Well that wasn't too bad...

Well a couple of days ago I mentioned how I was getting my wisdom teeth out this Friday (the 14th) and how nervous I was and anxious and the whole bit...well I am proud to report that the surgery went fine and was definitely not as scary as I had thought! Matt took me into the Doctors at about 11:15am and I was just so ready to get back in the car, drive back to my warm cozy bed, and forget about the whole thing! But I decided it would be better if I was just brave and get through it and it wasn't half as bad as I thought. I went into the operation room (hehe I am making it all sound so official but really it was just like a dentist office) and then the doc stuck an i.v. in my arm and told me I was gonna start feeling sleepy and before I knew it I was completely out of it. The next thing I remember is slowly waking up and having Matt sitting near me which was very nice and comforting! I guess my only really silly moment was when I was waking up and I couldn't talk because my mouth was so dry and full of gauze. I was trying to tell Matt that I couldn't talk but since you can't talk when you can't talk (if that makes any sense whatsoever) I was trying to use sign language but since Matt doesn't know sign language he had no clue what I was trying to say. It was cute though because he gave me his cell phone so I could at least text him but I was still so out of it and not use to Matt’s phone I don't think I was even able to spell out a single word...oh well! Matt took me home soon after that and then went to get my meds, he is a pretty dang awesome nurse to tell you the truth! Matt was at my side the whole day getting me pudding and ice cream, he even made a huge batch of mashed potatoes (ya it was huge! We even have some leftovers…yummy) and I am here to tell you they were the best mashed potatoes ever! It might have just been because I was so hungry but they were delicious! I was a little sick that first day but the whole thing was definitely a lot less painful and traumatic as I was expecting. Today is day 4 and my mouth is still a little sore and has some definite bruising but things are looking good. If this weekend has taught me anything it's how truly blessed I am for having such a freakin amazing husband that bends over backwards for me (especially when I am feeling sick) and I just can't thank him enough for all he does for me! Thanks baby!
(by the way yes I did have chipmunk cheeks...hehe...they weren't too bad according to my family but I will be happy when they're gone!)

Now I've gotta make a title?

Hey, Brittany just wanted me to let the whole world know that she is the most amazing lady I've ever met. That I'm taking the time to blog when I'd rather not should show everyone how much I love her. Or else I'll have to take out the proverbial cattle-prod and shock whomever disagrees!

Another new discovery...

So I was messing around with different ways I could post pics on here and I think I found the easiest way...slide.com. Because I was just trying it out I used some pics my bud Ashley took of us 2 years ago just before our wedding. These were the earliest pics I could find on my computer so I thought they would be fun to post. (Notice Matt doesn't have his goatee...lol...I like the goat much better!)

Do I really have to?

Well the time has come, whether I like it or not, to finally get my wisdom teeth out. I am getting the little guys out this Friday (I only have two thankfully, zero would have been better but hey it's not as bad as four right?!) and as each day approaches I get more and more nervous. I have never been a huge fan of the dentist (who is?) but this is going to be like ten times worse! My dentist (the very awesome Dr. Ashman) decided that it would be better for me to see an Oral Surgeon who is going to be knocking me out...oh joy! I have never had any kind of surgery (that I can remember...when I was little I got stitches but I don't think that counts since I don't remember) so I have never had to be "put under" and I am a little anxious about the whole thing. The part that scares me the most is waking up after the surgery and being all sleepy and confused and not knowing what's going on and just having a weird feeling (this is me assuming all this would happen since I don't really know). I am sure it will be better then what I picture but it still brings feelings of worry and stress to my mind. Hopefully everything goes well and the next time I write I will say how easy it was and totally not scary but for now I do have my fears, wish me luck!

My Love, Tag!

What is his name? Matthew Allen DeGriselles…but he just goes by Matt though he is very proud of the fact that his initials spell out MAD and since he is a little crazy (j/k) it works perfect!

How long did you date? We dated about 6 ½ months before we got married.

How old is he? 31

How old are you? 22 (a wee bit of an age difference I know…I guess I just like those older guys!)

Who eats more sweets? Matt shouldn’t be eating too much sweets (he is diabetic) so I would have to say I am probably the big sweets eater at our place though every once in a while Matt will sneak one in…silly guy!

Who said I love you first? I was thinking about this one and I really couldn’t remember…I remember I was waiting for Matt to say it first and if you ask him he would say he was waiting for me to say it first, I think we said it around the same time though.

Who is taller? Matt is taller but not by much…I like it that way, no having to go on my tippy-toes to give him a kiss ;)

Who can sing better? Wow that’s a tough one cause we are both pretty scary in the singing department, I would have to say that’s probably 50-50.

Who is smarter? I would say Matt but he would probably say me just because he is a pretty humble guy. Matt knows so many things about everything though it’s amazing! I think he get’s that from his Dad as well as from reading almost anything he can get his hands on.

Who does the laundry? We both do, I think I do it a little bit more often but he is just as willing to do it.

Who does the dishes? We both do as well.

Who pays the bills? Well we put both our money into the same account so we technically both pay the bills, but as far as writing out checks I am usually the one that does it…if it’s a bill that we pay over the phone Matt does (I don’t know how it worked out that way but it suits us just fine!)

His guilty pleasure: It would definitely be Diet Dr. Pepper! Matt loves the stuff, he is good about drinking a lot of water through out the day too but I think if he could drink dr. pepper all day he would.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Well if you are looking at the bed Matt sleeps on the right but if you are on the bed I sleep on the right so I guess we both do…hehe trick question!

Who mows the lawn? We have never lived anywhere with a lawn so neither of us, I imagine that when we get a house Matt will do the mowing but who knows?

Besides you, who is his best friend? That’s a tough one …I would have to say probably his brother Aaron.

Who cooks dinner? We both do…if Matt works late then I will cook but if I work late or have classes late then he does.

Who drives? Matt drives 95% of the time but every once in awhile I do. I don’t know why I like it so much when Matt drives but I just feel so safe and secure, it’s just so easy to lay back, relax, and fall asleep.

Who is more stubborn? We are both pretty stubborn when we want to be, I am not too sure who is more stubborn, depends on who you ask ;)

Who kissed who first? Matt kissed me first…hehe…it’s a funny story because he had taken me out to Traflaga (it was like our 3rd or 4th date) and the whole time I could tell he wanted to kiss me but I was so nervous that I didn’t really act like I wanted to kiss him even though I did. We got some ice cream and then he took me home. He walked me up to the door and then I just knew he was gonna kiss me and he did! It was a bit of an awkward kiss but special all the same, plus we had plenty of time to perfect it…and we did!

Who asked who out first? Matt and I actually met on ldssingles.com of all places (and no making fun! Two of my closest friends met and married guys from ldssingles so for some it does work) we had been talking online for only a week when I asked him if he wanted to meet up some time so I guess I technically asked Matt out first.

What was your first date? For our first date we went to Red Robin at the Provo Mall. I think it was my idea just because I love Red Robin so I thought it would be a fun place to meet (and a nice public place to meet, I mean I never met Matt before so I wanted to make sure we were somewhere open and public cause you never know…after meeting Matt I found out that he is the kindest, gentlest, warmest guy I know so any fears were for nothing!) after dinner we went to the movies and saw Fantastic 4. (It’s cute because I believe on our 6-month anniversary Matt took me to Red Robin’s and we watched Fantastic 4 just to be a little nostalgic) After the movie we both went our own ways but just before we left Matt gave me a simple and sweet little hug and I just knew that I wanted to see this guy again.

Who proposed? Matt proposed to me…about a month before he proposed we went on a little road trip with my two friends Ashley and Kathy to visit his family in Big Bear, California. After that trip I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and I had told him that I told Kathy that and that’s when we started talking about getting married. Ashley and I went to a jewelry store and picked out a ring that I liked not thinking Matt would propose that soon but after I found the ring that I really liked I showed Matt and he bought it for me that day. He didn’t just give me the ring right after he bought it, he wanted to officially propose to me. So at this time I knew he had the ring but I just didn’t know when I would get it, about a week (he didn’t make me wait too long…smart guy!) we were driving to my mom’s house on a Sunday and we decided to drive around Utah Lake, it was a cloudy day but it made the lake really beautiful because you couldn’t see any of the mountains in the background and it actually looked like we were looking into the ocean. Matt stopped the car and we both got out, I sort of had an idea that he was going to propose, he told me he had to do this the right way and then he got down on one knee and I remember I just couldn’t stop smiling. As they say the rest is history! It was a very nice proposal and I couldn’t ask for it to be any sweeter or romantic or wonderful! We got married a little less then 4 months later.

Who has more siblings? Matt does, he has 3 brothers and 2 sisters while I only have 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Who wears the pants? Neither of us, we are both pretty good at comprising and trying to do what’s best for the other.

What is your favorite thing about him? Wow there are just too many thing to put down…I would have to say though that one of my favorite things about Matt is that he always makes me smile! Even when I have had a horrible day or I feel like crap or I am dreading some test in one of my classes or I just am so grumpy and grouchy (as us girls can get from time to time) he can ALWAYS make me smile and laugh and giggle and I have no idea how he does it. Matt tries so hard to make me feel better and it just goes to show how unselfish he truly is. I love this man!

(thanks for tagging me Erin, these are always fun to do! I tag anyone who reads this and wants to put a spotlight on their love!)

A little silly but fun...

So my friend Erin had this posted on her blog and thought it was too silly to pass up, if anyone has a little free time on their hands feel free to do it for yourselves! Enjoy!

20 YEARS AGO- I was just chilling as a little 2 year old, I am not too sure what was going on in my life though I am sure I was causing all sorts of mischievousness though!

10 YEARS AGO- I was in 7th grade attending Payson Middle School. Middle School wasn’t really that bad but it wasn’t really that good either, just sorta in the middle. I had been in Young Women’s for over a year now so I already experienced my first year at girls camp which is one year too many! I was just a silly 12 yr. old, I loved biking, making movies, and just having fun with friends.

5 YEARS AGO- I was a senior at Payson High School. I actually really enjoyed high school, it seems like a lot of people didn’t really enjoy their high school days but mine were awesome. I had a very tight group of friends, we were a bit silly but very close which made my high school years that much better! We went to dances, movies, just hung out most of the time doing pretty much nothing but it was good, it was perfect for me!

3 YEARS AGO- I was living with my Grandpa Bergera up in American Fork, I was working at Wal-Mart and going to school at UVSC. I had dated a guy I met at Wal-Mart but luckily that ended soon cause he was sorta a dud and about 6 months after we broke up I met Matt and fell in love with him! Matt asked me to marry him in October which was amazing! By the end of the year we were planning the wedding and getting ready to start our life together!

1 YEAR AGO- Matt and I had just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! I was working (and still am) for Synergy World Wide, Matt was an intern at Wal-Mart and he was going to school as well. We traveled a lot last year, we went to Moab, Anaheim, Big Bear, Vegas, San Diego, Idaho, our cabin in the Boulder Mtns, just all over the place! My bud Ashley got married and Matt’s sister Allison got married (we were able to attend the wedding in the Redlands, CA temple, it was so beautiful!) and we had the chance to have Matt’s parents come down for the October Conference which was amazing to attend and see our Prophet at his last conference. All around last year was an amazing year!

SO FAR THIS YEAR- Well it’s been a pretty crazy year…in January Matt was promoted to an Assistant Manger (a position he had been working really hard to obtain), I went to the E.R. after I was up all night feeling like crap with a killer stomach ache that wouldn’t go away (all is better for now) a week later my Grandpa Bergera passed away, it was sudden but luckily we all had the opportunity to be there in the hospital with him when he passed away and say our goodbyes, later in that month Matt and I moved in to my Grandpa’s house to save a little rent and keep the place looking nice, in February I found out that one of my bud Ashley is going to have a baby in early September and I couldn’t be more excited for her! Yea!! Also Matt and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary at the Anniversary Inn (hehe we’re cheesers!).

YESTERDAY- I came home from my families annual Moab reunion minus one hubby, Matt wasn’t able to go down this year (things were just too crazy at work) so coming home to wrap my arms around him was amazing! He wasn’t able to sleep too well while I was gone so as soon as I got home he took a nap while I unpacked and played a little Guitar Hero 3. When Matt finally woke up we cooked a little dinner, watched some tv and cuddle all night, it was perfect night!

TODAY- Well today isn’t too exciting, Matt and I had to be to work at the same time today (a rare thing for us) so we woke up together and got ready together which was nice, I’ve been working all day and then once I get off at 6 I will head to the gym for an hour, force myself to do some physical activity and then I will head to my Math class…get a nap in (j/k I would never sleep in class…hehe) and an hour after that I can finally head home! Matt gets off at 9 tonight so I might just beat him home! I will probably grab something to eat and then fall asleep so I can get a little rest before my morning class tomorrow.

TOMORROW- Speaking about tomorrow…tomorrow I have my Geology class at 7 am (I dread thinking about getting up that early even now!) and then work after that, I am taking a half day tomorrow so I get off at 1 and then I will take my car into the shop for a wee bit, then gym and math class, home around 9, a little dinner, and sleep! Phew!
