"He is Risen!"

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love spoiling my hubby and kids with Easter presents but more importantly I love spending the day with my family remembering our Savrior and how because of his sacrifice we can all return to him one day. I have been trying to teach Abby about Easter and how we get gifts but more importantly about Jesus and what he did for us. It's really cute cause when I was telling her about Jesus I told her first how he died for us and Abby said "sad". I asked her why she was sad and she said "cause Jesus died". Now I really don't think my 2-year understands what death is but it was pretty remarkable to me that she knew (without me telling her) that death is sad. I then proceeded to tell her that the Savior came alive again and we can be happy. I told her that we can all live again because Jesus died. It was really fun having this teaching moment with her.

Easter morning we woke up to find that the Easter bunny visited...

After we opened our Easter presents we got ready for church. We all go new Easter outfits and I think we looked pretty dang cute!

After church we had my sister and her husband over for Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt.

One Month Old!

How is it that every time I turn around my kids are just getting bigger and bigger? I still can't believe Liam is already one month old. It's amazing to me that my little man could have such a strong hold on my heart. He is such a good boy and Matt and I couldn't be more grateful that he is happy and healthy and home with us. Liam spent the first 12 days of his life in the NICU with pneumonia and breathing problems and to stay it was touch would be an understatement.  He is home now and doing great and we know it's because of the many prayers of families and friends. We love you so much little Liam, thanks for making our family complete!

St. Paddy's Day!

We had a lot of fun this year celebrating St. Patrick's Day! St. Paddy's this year was on a Sunday so we made sure we dressed in as much green as we could. I realized very quickly though that Abby didn't have very many green outfits let alone green dresses. This is the best we could do...

It was really fun though cause my mom and I made Liam's cute little shirt with a tie. I have seen them in stores and always thought they were cute but never actually bought one. Sunday morning I was trying to think of what to have him wear to church and I wished I had bought one of those cute onesies. I realized that we could probably make one pretty easily. I found this cute fabric that had some green in it (so he wouldn't get pinched of course) I cut it into a tie shape and my mom sewed it on. I think it turned out very cute!

Later that day my sister Chelsie came over and my brother Ryan came over and we enjoyed St. Paddy's Day eating yummy treats and just hanging out. It was a great day! (And of course my kiddos looked super cute in their green outfits)

Liam's First Bath!

Today Liam and Abby had their first bath together, too funny! I think Abby was a little confused as to why there wasn't a lot of water in the tub. Once we put Liam in the tub with her though she was so excited to be taking a bath with her little brother. Liam on the other hand was less then thrilled. He pretty much cried the whole time. It wasn't until we got him out and wrapped him up in his towel that he was finally content. It will be interesting to see if he likes the water as much as his big sister does.

"Finally I can get some bubbles!"

Coming Home!

On Tuesday, March 5th we got the call that Liam was ready to go home! We were ECSTATIC!!! He would still be on oxygen but we could come home with an oxygen tank and a monitor. We had to go to the hospital on Tuesday and actually spend the night just to make sure we knew how to use the oxygen tank and monitors and in case we had any questions we could ask the nurses. It was a long night but the next day we were able to take Liam home, how exciting!

Liam is all ready to go and so are we!

When we got home we couldn't wait to see how Abby would react to her little brother. At first she was a little nervous and cautious but quickly she adapted to her new brother and now we can't keep her away from him, lol.

I know Abby and Liam are going to be best buds! It's so fun to see how much Abby loves her brother. It's been a little tough with a new baby and a 2-year old but I am just so grateful Abby is so willing to help out so much. Also it's been really nice because Liam is just so chill. I remember with Abby she hated to be in her bassinet, she always wanted to be held. With Liam he is totally content in his bassinet, I think it is because he was in the NICU for 12 days. Both kids are adjusting to their new life well and so are me and Matt. I can't wait until it gets warmer and we can go on walks and just enjoy some sunshine together. I feel very blessed!

We visited Liam tonight and I took this picture that just makes my heart smile. These are the two most important men in my life and I just can't thank the Lord enough for them. Tonight has we visited Liam we had the opportunity to hold him for close to an hour each and it was amazing. I also had the opportunity to breastfeed Liam which always makes me feel so close to him. His nurse told us he has been doing awesome. He is on 1 liter per hour of oxygen and they are going to try to wean him completely it off it tonight. As for his food intake the nurse said he ate all of his feedings for today and was right on target. She said best-case scenario Liam could be going home tomorrow. I am not holding my breath because I know things can happen and that is only the best-case scenario but it is still very exciting news! Matt and I can't wait for Liam to come home. Oh and Abby is pretty excited too. She keeps saying Liam come home, lol.

Afternoon with Abby girl

This past Saturday we decided to take Abby to see her little brother. They has some pretty strict rules at the NICU so Abby had to see Liam through a window (they don't allow anyone under 18 to come into the nursery just with all the germs little kids can carry). It was pretty special seeing Abby look at her little brother.

After the hospital we decided to take Abby to the Provo Beach Resort (a fun indoor family entertainment place with indoor surfing, bowling, miniature croquet, a ropes course, arcade games, and a toddler town with a play area just for toddlers). We figured that we wont be able to do these kinds of things too often when we first bring Liam home so we would take advantage of this time.

The last time we took her there was over a year ago so it was really neat to see how much she has grown and how much more she can do now. It was great spending the afternoon playing with her and watching her smile. We love our little Abby girl so much!
