I am officially married to Matthew Allen DeGriselles of Daniel and Sharon DeGriselles and marriage is more then anything I ever thought of, dreamed of, or hoped for! It's not some miraculous everyday filled with kisses (well actually it is) but a deep love, just amazing, and hard to put into words. I love coming home to my hubby and wrapping my arms around him and sleeping next to him and being embraced by him every night knowing that he loves me just as much as I love him and knowing that the Lord is in our lives in the most beautiful thing I could imagine.
So on Thursday, February 23rd I received my endowments and to keep the ordnance sacred I wont write much but that is was an amazing experience and I truly felt the Lord with me that night. After Matt took me home (by the way his family, except his brother Thom and Sarah who are expecting a baby, were at the temple) and that night before the wedding I didn't get much sleep. With a very eventful day ahead of me I was so nervous but so excited too! I talked to Matt and we shared in the anticipation.
The next morning, February 24th, I got up early, got my hair done, and met Matt at 9am to be at the temple by 9;30am. We drove together and it was so amazing to have him there to lean on as we made the most important choice of our life. We were married around 10:30am on Friday, February 24th, 2006n a the Mount Timpanogos Temple for all time and eternity! The experience itself was also too sacred to write about but I will say looking into Matt's eyes as I became his wife is a moment I will never forget. My love for him grows with every passing minute and I can't believe how much more I feel in love with him that day.
After the ceremony we were welcomed outside the temple by family members and friends. We took some picture and I hugged many closer friends and loved ones...
After the pictures we met in Payson for a lunch by Matt's family and had the reception following that. For lunch we had yummy lasagna from Brick Oven, it was so good!
I will say that most of the people that came through our line were strangers to me or knew my mom or either knew me when I was little. I did have some friends come by and I had my chica's be my bridesmaids (Ashley, Kathy, and Nikelle) and my sister Chelsie was my Maid of Honor. The wedding reception was beautiful. The colors were red, white, and black which looked good with a Valentines theme (being that it was in February). The cake was beautiful, my family was beautiful, and it was just an amazing night.

So now first a note...When I 12 years old I received a paint can with a picture of the temple on it. Inside it held treasures that I would not open until my wedding day. Now I have to admit my brothers were more excited to open it and they continually asked my mom if I could open it and see what was inside. Obviously my mom had not given in but at my reception with excitement in their eyes my brothers finally got the change to have me open the can. Matt helped me open it with a pair of old can openers and inside it held some tender notes from my grandma's that have passed away and a note from my mom. It was accompanied by a blue pin from my Grandma Bergera. I especially love the notes from my mom and Grandma's who have passed. I read them at the reception and teared up. When they wrote the notes 8 years ago they didn't know for sure if they would be here and hearing them from beyond the veil in these notes is the most wonderful girl I could receive!
Note from my mom:
"Brittany,
I was always glad that God sent me two little girls first. I thought it would be fun to share with them, and there was a lot I could teach them, but I think you have both taught me lots more! I really admire your strength of character and your natural leadership abilities and your creativity. I always said that whatever you did you would do it 100%! I hope that includes being 100% dedicated to the man at your side today. I hope you chose him for many fine qualities that he has shown while you got to know him. Always try to take care of his needs (whether big or small) and he will take care of yours and together you will be close and very happy! And when (not if) disagreements arise, remember the best way to settle them is by compromise - you both give a little and take a little and you are both winners in the end. Now relax and enjoy this wonderful day! I love you a lot!
Janet (mom)"
Note from my Grandma Bergera:
"My Dearest Brittany,
Wherever I am, I'll be with you on this special day. You brought such love and joy when you come to our family and your sharp, quick wit has always made me smile. You not only carry my name, but you carry my heart, too. I know you will be as much a blessing to your own family as you have been to us. I love you!
Grandma Bergera"
This note was included with a pin my Grandma Bergera gave me:
"My Dearest Brittany,
Every time I look at this pin, I think of my mother - you see, it was hers. As you look at it, think of the most wonderful, loving person in the world and you'll be thinking of my mother, I wish you could have known her. I love you!
Grandma Bergera"
Note from my Grandma Olson:
"Dear Brittany,
One of my earliest memories of you was when you were 3 or 4 years old and were visiting us in Mink Creek. Your brother, Ryan, was about 3 months old and was down stairs. You thought he should be upstairs, so here you come, lifting the baby up one step ahead of you, then you climbed up one step and tossed the baby up another step. Everyone arrived ok. You have always been original in your ideas, and so interesting, I've also enjoyed seeing you participate in sports where you are so talented and perhaps will be a published author one day like your mother is. I have such fervent wishes for you in your life. I hope you will always have good health, that you will get a good education, and then meet someone who will mean everything to you. I hope you will be married in the temple for time and for all eternity, and together raise a wonderful family just like your parents did. I love you so much and are so proud of you.
Grandma Cleo"
Matt and I spent our first night together in our own apartment and the following night at The Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake City. My love for Matt grew so strong that fist night and so forth, my husband, my friend. I am so grateful to be married in the temple, the house of the Lord the way he would have wanted it. I thank the Lord every day fro the beautiful man lying next to me every night!
