Good times, good times!

Well I have 2 very exciting bits of news...

#1- Late Sunday night Matt's brother Thom and wife Sarah had their second baby! They had an 8lb 13 ounces little girl they named Leona Ellen DeGriselles. We were told the labor went really well and we just couldn't be more excited for their cute little family. They have a little boy named Luke, he is 2 years old, and Matt told me that he just loves giving his little sister kisses all the time! So cute!! Thom and Sarah are living in California so we haven't had a chance to visit them yet and see the cute little buddle of joy but we are planning on going out to Cali in June for the baby blessing. It will be so nice to be around Matt's family again and celebrate such an amazing new edition to our clan. Aren't Luke and Leona so cute...

#2- Matt and I are going on VACATION!!!! I couldn't be more excited and pumped up and just ready to get out and forget about everything! We have been trying to get away for a while now but with Matt's crazy work schedule and my classes it's been quite a headache...so just about a week ago I was thinking maybe we could fit a vacation in before I start summer classes, I talked to my Aunt Emily from Moab (who just so happens to manage a Hotel down there) and I found out that we can get a room down there for pretty cheap and at the exact time we need it (just after I finish finals and just before my summer classes start) it couldn't get any better then this! So this Sunday the 27th (if all goes to plan) we will head down to Moab and won't be back until the 29th. It's just a couple of days but it will be so nice not to have to think about work, school, this or that, and just have a nice relaxing couple of days to our self. I think the last time we went on vacation was for Matt's sister Allison's Wedding back in August so it's about time!

Pics by Britt...

So yesterday before I went to church I decided to go on a little walk up to the Mt. Timpanogas Temple (about 3 blocks from my house) and I thought it might be fun to take my camera and take a few shots while up there. Well it got me thinking...I like to go walking everyday just to get out (especially when at work) and be in nature and just relax while also getting in a little exercise, so why not take my camera with me and take a few pictures? Well I am! And to fully document my (hopeful) progression in photography I have created the website...http://picsbybritt.googlepages.com/. Hopefully I can keep this updated everyday with new pictures as I try to improve my photography skills (if I had any to start off with). If you would like to leave me comments, suggestions, tips, or what not feel free to e-mail me at brittany513@hotmail.com, it would be greatly appreciated!

Chelsie & Wes's Wedding...

Well as you can see the wedding was just beautiful! Chelsie and Wes were married on Saturday, April 12th at the clubhouse at their condo. They were married by the Mayor of Spanish Fork which was really cool, the ceremony itself was simple and short but really touching. After the ceremony we took some family pics (much to Wes's objection) and congratulated the newly married couple! After the wedding they had a small reception which was fun because it gave us all a chance to catch up with family and friends and just do a little mingling. It was nice seeing family friends that we don't get to see as often as we would like, and did I mention how yummy the dessert was?! It was soooo good! I even posted a pic of it (hehe). Overall the wedding was perfect! I don't think any major mishaps happened and the weather couldn't have been better! (The wedding wasn't outside or anything but I was wearing a short sleeve shirt the whole time so having it be cold might not have been the greatest thing...I am so weird) After the reception we all went out to dinner and then went back to Chelsie and Wes's place to open presents. When Chelsie and I were in Young Women's my mom put together these tin cans with special notes inside from my Grandma's and mom. When I got married I had the chance to finally open the can and read the notes from my Grandma's which was so touching because they had both passed away in 2004. Being able to hear them tell me "Congrats" on my special day when they were both only able to be there in spirit was so touching and special to me I will never forget it! Well after Chelsie opened her presents she also got the chance to open her tin can and read the notes from my Grandma's. It was so touching hearing her read them, it brought a tear to every one's eyes. It really was the perfect end to a wonderful day! Overall I am just so excited my sister is married to such a good guy, I couldn't be happier for them both!!

Chelsie + Wes

My sister is getting married and I couldn't be more excited for her! Chelsie is getting married this Saturday (the 12th) to her soon-to-be hubby Wes Taylor and they make such a cute couple! Their wedding is going to be very small and mostly just family but it's totally what I would expect from them, just nice and simple! I am so excited for my sissy (hehe) I know it will be an amazing day for her and I am excited to be there to support her. Congrats Sis, I love ya!

"Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts."

This weekend was a blast! Matt's family had the opportunity to come out to Utah (they are from Cali) to visit with us and also attend Conference on Saturday morning. It was a hoot! The only thing that wasn't that great was the fact that Matt had to work a lot but it was better then nothing. Friday evening Mom and Dad D. and Matt's brothers Aaron, Tim, and sister Allison and her hubby Tim rolled into town just when Matt was getting off of work so the timing was perfect! As soon as I got off of work we headed out to dinner (we went to Cafe Rio, very yummy!) and then we did a little shopping at Costco. After that we went back to our place and just hung out, played a little Wii, and caught up with what's going on in every bodies life. It was so nice to just talk with the family that we haven't seen (well at least some of them) since Christmas time. Saturday Matt had to work so that was a bummer, since he wasn't able to go to conference with us I asked my mom if she would like to come and she was thrilled since she hasn't gone before. We attended the morning session and it was wonderful!! It was really nice being able to share such an amazing experience with my mom (I was very sad Matt wasn't able to go but I think things worked out good anyways). After conference my mom and I went out to lunch (we went to Sweet Tomatoes and it was so good!!). Later that afternoon Matt's mom Sharon and I had a bit of a bonding experience as the guys were in priesthood session...my sister Chelsie is getting married next week so I really needed to get some cute clothes so mom and I went shopping! After visiting numerous stores (I am such a picky shopper) I finally found a cute shirt to wear and got Matt a nice shirt and tie...but that wasn't it, mom totally spoiled us and got Matt and I each a couple more things (like a really nice suit for Matt) and I just couldn't thank her enough! Sunday morning mom and dad took off back to Cali and since Matt had to work I went and picked Matt up and took him out to lunch after mom and dad took off! I thought it would be a nice surprise for him. After Matt got off of work we spent Sunday night just resting and relaxing, an end to a perfect weekend! This weekend was a blast, a mix of family, conference, a little shopping, and just relaxing, what more could I ask for?!
