Only 3 more days!

So today is the last day of work for me and Matt until Wednesday (and technically Matt doesn’t go back to work until next Friday) and I couldn’t be more excited! Our anniversary is this coming Tuesday (the 24th) so Matt and I asked for the 23rd and 24th off (and Matt actually got off like the whole week the lucky duck!) so we could take a little break from life to celebrate our 3 year anniversary.

On Monday morning we are heading up to Brighton to do a little snowboarding…waste away the day…and just relax! That night we booked a room at The Brighton Lodge so as soon as we get off the slopes we can hit the hot tub and relax our sore muscles the best way possible!

On Tuesday we are going to the Draper Temple Openhouse which should be amazing! From everyone I have talked to who has gone it’s utterly beautiful and I can’t wait to check it out! Later that night we may hit the restaurant we went to on our very first date and go from there. It should be a blast and I can’t wait!! (now to just get through this day…lol)

Valentines Day!

It's hard to believe that this was our fourth Valentines Day together...it seems like the time has just flown by! Both Matt and I had to work so even though Valentines this year was on a Saturday we weren't able to go out and do something fun during the day. Instead I cooked dinner that night and we had a fun night in (also to not have to worry about the crazy busy restaurants we were sure would be jammed packed). I tried to make our little dinning/kitchen as romantic as I could with candles and music and rose petals...I think it turned out pretty cute!

Later we opened up presents (Matt got me a Scentsy wickless candle and a ton of the scented wax as well as a new book I was eyeing...I got Matt a new CD and some new tv series I knew he wanted). And then we relaxed the rest of the night! It was the perfect Valentines!

Chillin with our buds...

Matt and I had the rare opportunity this past weekend to hang out with some of our friends and family and we had a blast! With work and school and conflicting schedules it can be hard to find time to just relax and have fun. It turned out this weekend worked for everyone so we took advantage of it and had a ball!

On Saturday night our buds Kathy and Greg invited us over for dinner (which was extremely yummy...thanks Kat!!) and then we decided to play a little Wii. We played Mariokart, Rock band, Mario Striker, all into the wee hours of the night! Kathy and Greg are so much fun to hang out with I couldn't have asked for a more fun night...I am starting to think we need to make this a tradition! Here are some of the photos I took while we were rocking out...

"The Band"
Yea! You guys rock!

Matt rocking out the guitar...doesn't he look cute!

Kathy and Greg kicking a$% on the drums and vocals!

Sunday Matt and I went up to Aaron's house to drop off some of his Christmas presents we picked up from Mom and Dad's house a couple of weeks ago. Matt brought up his Xbox 360 to get some downloads (since we don't have Internet) and then we all played Call of Duty for a little bit until the boys decided to play Halo 3 for a couple of hours. Here's some photos...

"The Bros"

Matt looking all intense...he's really into the game!

Aaron and Matt setting up Halo 3.

Me taking a nap while they played for like 4 hours! (but really I did fall asleep...lol)

How freakin cool is this?!

So during my lunch break today I decided to do some driving around here in Pleasant Grove. Next thing I know I am staring at this right outside my window...

...how completely random?! It turns out the guy that made this has been doing this for three years in a row now. You can climb through the tunnels and there are even two slides on it...you can use! Click here to read a little more about it and see some photos. Way cool!

And your Wii fit age is...

Yup we got a Wii fit! After becoming quite addicted to the little guy while visiting Matt's folks in California Matt decided to buy one for me for my anniversary present (what a cutie!). The first night we got it we took it out of the box, set it up, and started hula-hooping, skiing, tight-rope walking into the wee hours of the morning. The best part about it is that your having fun while getting off your butt, what could be better? The Wii fit targets four areas...Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance. You select one and then follow instructions for a new yoga technique, a new strength training exercise, an aerobic exercise or you can do a balance game to improve posture, balance, etc. Of course I don't think this should take place of a good workout at the gym or a walk/run around the neighborhood but it's sure fun! Another thing about the Wii fit we really like is the Body Test you can do every day. Basically you stand on the device and it can calculate your BMI (body mass index) using your weight and height. In then puts you in the category of Normal, Overweight, or Obese. Next you pick a goal you want to work on (ie loose 15 lbs) and every day you work on obtaining your goal. You can see your progress every day as your weigh yourself and (hopefully) watch the weight go down. After your weigh-in you can choose to do two body tests. These tests deal a lot with balance. For example you can stand on one leg for 30 secs and see how still you can stay, another one deals with keeping as still as possible for as long as possible which might seem easy but can be quite difficult. The two body tests will then determine your "Wii fit age". Usually the first time you try it your age is going to be pretty high because your not quite use to it but it's fun to see it slowly come down as you become more in control. Overall it's been a fun thing for Matt and I to do together and what's better then spending time with my hubby? Nothing at all! (Plus watching Matt hula-hoop is pretty much the funniest thing I've ever seen...sorry babe!)
