Splash Pad Fun!

Yesterday Matt and I took Abby to this fun park up in Spanish Fork and she had a ball! There were so many fun slides and swings and all sorts of fun stuff for her to play with but her favorite thing had to be the splash pad. She wasn't too sure about it at first but once we realized how much fun she could have she went all out!

It's hard to believe how big my baby girl is and how independent she is. She definitely likes doing things by herself and though sometimes that can make me and her daddy a little nervous we are so glad she is such an outgoing and social girl.

The big 2-7 and a day just for me!

For my birthday extravaganza this year Matt took me up to Salt Lake City for the weekend and it was a blast! My birthday this year fell on a Sunday (actually Mother's day!) so we went up Saturday and then came home Sunday just in time to talk to Austin and have a BBQ with my family. My amazing aunt Cathy and her two kids Riley and Scott watched Abby for us so we could spend the day (and night) just the two of us, it was great!

The first thing we did was go to City Creek in Downtown SLC. It was pretty cool, definitely not has big as the hype made it out to be, but all in all in was very nice. We mostly just walked around and looked at the shops and then walked to Temple Square, took a few pics of the temple and lastly went to the Church's beautiful Art Museum which is one of my favorites.

After all our walking around (I was amazing how much walking we actually did!) we decided to get some lunch. I found this coupon on groupon.com  for a Mexican place we've eaten at before in Park City called the Blue Iguana and they have one in downtown SLC so we ate there and it was delicious! I think the best part was how close it was to City Creek and Temple Square.

After lunch we headed over to the Gateway to see "The Avengers" which was really good! So ya I did fall asleep in the middle but that was only because I was so tired from all our walking and the heat, lol. After the movie we headed over to the hotel we were staying at that night, a place we've stayed at before that we really like called "The Little America" also just in downtown. The room we stayed in was super nice and up on the 9th floor so we had a pretty spectacular view!

That night we walked over to an Indian restaurant called "The Star of India" where we enjoyed some very good Indian food. We really did do much that night, we were going to go swimming until this herd of people in swimsuits headed to the pool and we decided we rather not go swimming with 50 other people. So instead we ordered some room service (New York Cheesecake and a cherry pie) and just relaxed for the rest of the evening.

The next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet with all the works! At the time we booked the hotel I added what's called a Sunrise Breakfast to the room and I am so glad I did because it was the best breakfast! They had everything from fruit, yogurt, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash-browns, pancakes, french toast, cereal, and much more! By the time we finished our breakfast we were rolling out the door.

After breakfast we picked up Abby and headed home to celebrate my birthday and Mother's day with my family at my moms' house.

We took advantage of the warm weather and spent pretty much the whole day outside playing in the backyard and just having fun.

It was so hot outside we decided to play in the sprinklers, needless to say Abby had a blast!!!

We enjoyed a very delicious lunch courtesy of my amazing sister! Chelsie made us pulled chicken sandwiches and her signature seafood salad (which is a family favorite), Ryan brought guacamole and chips, my mom got us all the supplies and Matt and brought some tasty dessert macaroon's and cheesecake!

We weren't ready to go inside yet so we went on a walk, played some games in the front yard (baseball and badminton) and then to be extra silly we made tried balancing on a ladder and pretend like we were walking a tight-rope...ya we are kind of silly that way.

I had such an amazing Birthday and Mother's Day all because of my incredible family that I wouldn't trade for the world. I love you guys so much and thanks for making this a year I will never forget!

We were celebrating my sister Chelsie's birthday on April 14th and my brother Ryan's birthday on April 24th.
