The first thing we did (the day before our anniversary) was go to the brand new Cinemark in Orem and see the movie Taken.
Us being cheesers! We loved the new theatre it was so nice! The movie was amazing too! It was the perfect start to our anniversary get-a-way!
For lunch we stopped by Red Lobster!
Matt ordered soup and salad...doesn't it look good?!After lunch we headed up to Brighton. We were going to go snowboarding but the weather was a little icky so we decided against it. We did however enjoy the drive up the canyon (which nether one of us had driven up before) and was amazed at how much snow they had up there!
This is the lodge we had dinner at "Silver Fork Lodge" it was so yummy! Definitely the best Meat Loaf I have ever had!
The next day we got up early to take off to the Draper Temple Open house. We took our Sunday dress clothes with us so we didn't have to go back down to Orem and it was so funny seeing every one's reaction. Picture a bunch of snowboarders and skiers in their most grungy clothes and then here we come Matt with his suit and fedora and me in a dress...LOL!
You can see how much stinkin snow there was up there...crazy!
Behind me was one of the chair lifts...why couldn't it look like this up here the day before?!
The Brighton Lodge...it was convenient because it was so close to the slopes but as far as the nicest hotels we stayed in it wasn't up there. We had fun though! We got down into the valley earlier then expected so we decided to go over to Temple Square. We ran into 3 pairs of sister missionaries it was so much fun! We told them it was our anniversary and they thought it was so cute we decided to come to the Temple. They were nice enough to take a picture of us...
Yea! I love this man!!
We also visited the Art Museum on Temple Square and the Convention Center. (Matt took this picture at this angle so you could see his truck...what a goober!)After lunch we visited Matt's brother Aaron for a little bit before we took off to the Draper Temple for the Open House. All I can say is that the Temple is breathtakingly beautiful! We couldn't take any photos otherwise I would have about a billion on here. If your in the area and get a chance to go see it I highly recommend it!
Gorgeous! After we visited the Temple we went down to the University Mall in Provo and had dinner at Red Robin. We had our first date at Red Robin so it's pretty significant for us (plus it's one of our favorite restaurants). After dinner we grabbed some Sub Zero Ice Cream (amazing!) and called it a night!

Sounds like a fun getaway! Happy Anniversary! The Draper Temple is beautiful, we went with the youth last week for mutual and loved it.
I'm glad you enjoyed your little trip. Sounds like you had a fun time.
