About time!

So the other day our buds were bragging to us about how they are getting an IN-N-OUT near their home in Orem. We were both pleasantly surprised to have an IN-N-OUT so close and a little jealous that they are building it in Orem and not closer to us. True we're not too far from Orem (about 10mins) but the fact that my buds are within walking distance of one of the greatest fast food restaurants there is made Matt and I myself way to jealous for our own good.

Well I am very happy and very pleased to announce that upon driving home one evening Matt and I notice that they are fact...drum roll please...building an IN-N-OUT in American Fork!! Only a few miles from our house Matt and I will soon be able to enjoy a double-double (animal style of course) it's all it's glory! How freaking cool is that?!

You're a Slave to the Money...

Have you ever just really, really needed a vacation! I mean it's a matter of life or death?! Ok so maybe not really life or death but you feel like you are about the pull your hair out of your head if you can't get away from everything for a couple of days. Well I am there. I am beyond there. If I could I would already have all my bags packed and be on the plane. Unfortunately that's not the case. Instead I am working six days for most of the weeks this month (yea for overtime/money for Christmas) and there are no vacations in sight for Matt and I myself until probably next year. That's so stinkin depressing!

I curse you bills!

I curse you money (or lack thereof)!

I curse you insurance companies and hospitals for making us poor!

I curse you truck for deciding to be a pain in the butt and overheating whenever we drive you!

I curse you Matt's job for not letting him take a couple of days off near Christmas to spend time with his family!

Why can't we just take a week off from life and enjoy sunbathing on a luxury cruise liner headed to Mexico while not getting stressed out about all the things that stress a person out?! Seems pretty reasonable to me!

Museums & Mischief!

Today Matt and I are heading over the Woodbury Art Museum (in Orem) to view the SHAOLIN: Temple of Zen for his Ethics class. The exhibit is by Justin Guariglia who had been observing the Shaolin Temple monks in China for several years and with the monk's permission was able to take photographs and document some of their scared traditions. This is the first time they've ever let allowed someone to do this and so Matt's teacher wants the class to attend the exhibit and decided if it was ethical for the photographer to display their scared ceremonies. I think it should be pretty interesting!

Speaking of school the semester is probably about half way through and our classes are going pretty well. I’ve been enjoying my nutrition class and my first test is on Tuesday, yikes! It should be pretty simple I think, especially with how laid back my teacher is but still makes me a tad bit nervous. We’ve covered some of the basics of nutrition, carbohydrates, fats, and food labels and I’ve learned a lot of really useful information. It’s always nice having a class where you can actually taking something from it and use it in your daily life. Though Matt’s class isn’t the most exciting of subjects (who likes ethics anyways?) I think he’s doing pretty good in it and will be glad to have it over with! I think we both would rather just have all our schooling over with but you just got to take it one day at a time right?!

Happy Birthday Baby!

On Friday (October 2^nd) Matt celebrated his birthday and we had a blast! We started off the morning by of course sleeping in (we both had the day off) and what’s a better way to start off a birthday? Of course right after we woke up Matt wanted to open his birthday presents (which may have been my fault for leaving them on our dresser the following day to taunt and tease him). I always try to spoil Matt and hopefully this year I did well! I got him a shirt, some shoes, some video games, a movie, and a couple odds and ends. He seemed pretty excited by what he got!

After opening presents and being a little lazy we decided to have lunch at Matt’s favorite spot, Rubio’s. It’s becoming quite a tradition for us to eat there on Matt’s birthday and now that they’ve built one in town it worked out perfectly!

After lunch we headed to Cinemark to watch the movie “9”. Matt has wanted to see this movie for awhile now and though I admit I feel asleep (LOL!) Matt seemed to enjoy it and that’s all that matters!

Next we had to buy some time before dinner so we went to Best Buy and then to Roberts Crafts (where Matt bought me some Christmas presents, what a little stinker! Even on his birthday he is looking out for, I love ya baby!) and we also stopped by Borders where we both got some Christmas ideas.

For dinner I surprised Matt by taking him to Tucanos in Provo. We both love Tucanos but never seem to make it out there because it’s a tad pricey. I decided what a perfect birthday treat for him! We had amazing food (my favorite was definitely the raspberry cheesecake and Matt’s the top sirloin, yum!) and then I surprised Matt again by having the staff sing “Happy Birthday” to him which he seemed to really appreciate!

For our last activity of the night (which was also a surprise) I took Matt to see “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. We saw “A Christmas Carol” there in December and loved it! The atmosphere is so cozy and you feel like you are apart of the action. When I was trying to think of something fun we could do for Matt’s birthday I thought going to see “Little Shop of Horrors” would be perfect! Well Matt was caught completely off guard and we had a blast! The actors were wonderful, the props awesome (they pulled off Audrey II pretty amazingly), and just the whole play was done flawlessly. The perfect end to a wonderful day!
