How stinkin cool!

I just heard the exciting news and had to spread the word...

"A new temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to be built in Payson, Utah, it was announced today by Church President Thomas S. Monson.

The new temple will help meet the needs of a growing Church membership in the area and will ease the heavy use of the Provo temple, which is one of the busiest in the Church. The Payson temple will bring to 15 the number of operating and announced temples in Utah."

What an exciting day! I would have never in a million years thought my little hometown of Payson would actually have a temple, it's pretty stinkin crazy! I am excited, thrilled, overjoyed, and elated beyond words! I am anxiously awaiting for the artist rendition of what our (probably) small cute temple will look like, it should be neat!

Been awhile...

I think this may be the longest lapse in time I’ve ever had between posts but quite frankly there just hasn’t been anything new going on to report...

Matt and I are both doing the school thing. We actually are taking a class together which has been a blast! We are taking a very basic Intro. To Art and I love it! I’ve forgotten how much I absolutely love art!! We’ve just started the class a couple of weeks ago but already I am so glad I am taking the class. And what could be better then taking a class I love with my hubby? Well maybe besides the 20 minute drive to class where we can just talk and relax...I love it!

Work is pretty much same old same old. My work is actually moving into a new building on Friday just down the street (which is pretty funny I think) but we’ll have more room and after touring the new place yesterday I am pretty excited!

I’ve been teaching the 5-6yr olds in Primary for the last 6 months and I have to tell you I absolutely love it! It was hard saying goodbye to the kids I first taught when I started (because with the beginning of a new year we get new kids) but the kids I teach now are just as sweet and silly! They can be trouble-makers at times (and we’ve had to enforce the “you-only-get-candy-if-you’ve-earned-it” rule) but they really are the sweetest kids and I love them to death!

We’re getting ready for a couple of vacations and I am psyched! Last year we had sort of a vacation dry spell and so now that we have two vacations planned in only two months I am ecstatic!

First in March we are going to my families annual Moab Madness Reunion and for the first time in 3 years Matt will be able to come! The last couple of years he’s been busy with work and wasn’t able to get the time off but as soon as we found out the dates for this year’s trip he requested them off and he actually got them, I can’t wait!

Only about a month after we get home from Moab Matt and I are taking off to California to spend about a week with the family. I’m not too sure what we’ve got planned (I think Mom and Dad have something up their sleeves) but I know we’re gonna have a blast! When we went out for Christmas I realized it had been way too long since we’ve seen the family and I can’t wait to get back out there. Plus we’ll be in town for Easter which should be really fun! We haven’t had the opportunity to spend Easter with Matt’s family so I am pretty excited about that!

What a silly boy!

Here are a couple of pics from our trip...

What a ball of energy this kid is! Here's Luke (obviously not in focus because he won't sit still long enough) playing with his new Bat-Cave (which was actually pretty cool!)

After playing for a couple of hours he decided to take a "nap". He would lay there, just like this and not really fall asleep or anything but he didn't want to leave (and he didn't want me to leave ether). I would scratch his back (which always turned into a tickle) and he would suck his thumb and be completely content, I loved it!

We just sat on the couch "napping" for a good hour until the little ball of energy wanted to start playing again. What a little cutie!

*More pics coming soon!

So just a tad bit late...

I feel like such a slacker! I’ve been waiting to post about Christmas until I had the chance to upload my photos but I keep forgetting to bring them to work so I decided I am just gonna post and then upload the pics later, that works right?!

Well Matt and I had an amazing Christmas! We had the extremely incredible opportunity to fly out to California to spend the holidays with Matt’s family and it was more then we could ask for!

With Matt’s work schedule we couldn’t fly out until Christmas morning but it was actually pretty quite at the airport which was nice. Matt’s folks picked us up at the airport and after a quick bite at Panda Express (a new experience for all of us on Christmas day) we headed up to Big Bear. It had been WAY too long since we’ve seen the DeGriselles family and it was really good just chatting and catching up with everyone. Everyone was up for Christmas this year except Allie and Tim who we were able to chat with via skype which was really nice.

Later that night we opened presents and I can’t believe how much mom and dad spoiled us rotten! We are beyond blessed to have such amazing parents who do so much for us. Our simple present to them seems pretty insignificant compare to all they’ve done for us. We got so much stuff that we’re actually gonna have to have Matt’s brother Aaron (who is still in California right now) drop our stuff off when he drives home.

On Saturday we actually didn’t leave the house once! (Which I perfectly enjoyed!) It snowed off and on all day so it was pretty nice just bumming around and relaxing. I was able to spend a lot of time with my adorable niece Leona and nephew Luke and all I can say is I love these kids! They are by far the cutest little kids I know (ya so maybe I am a little biased) and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to spend the whole day with them! Luke seemed to get a little attachment to me which was pretty funny. Matt asked him if he was excited for us to come visit again and Luke innocently replied, “only your wife” we all burst out laughing! He had fun showing me his “Bat-Cave” under the stairs and he was quite the little burst of energy.

Sunday we enjoyed spending time with the family at church (where Luke wouldn’t let Matt put his arm around my shoulders, lol!) and then we had to quickly take off. Our flight left at 5:30pm which doesn’t seem like too early but when you add the time it takes to drive down the mountain as soon as church was over we got in the car and took off. We had a fun 3-hr layover in Vegas and didn’t get home until 1am but it was an amazing trip and we had a blast!

(I promise to get some pictures up soon!)
