Our Last Minute Cali Vaca!

Due to some recent events (Matt was let go from his work which is really a blessing in disguise) we decided to take a quick last minute vacation to California to visit Matt's family and had a blast! I took a TON of pictures so beware!!

We headed out to California on Friday (June 17th) and though it was the longest drive Abby has been on to date she did remarkably well! We arrived at Matt's parents house in Apple Valley around 5pm and enjoyed the evening catching up.






We had to stop by Cafe Rio in St. George for some lunch, I mean who doesn't love Cafe Rio?!




When we finally arrived in California Abby was so ready to stretch and move around!!

On Saturday (June 18th) we visited with Matt's brother Thom, his wife Sarah, and there three super cute kids up in Big Bear. We watched Luke play his last baseball game of the season and then spent some time at Thom's house (aka mom and dad's old place) and played aorund.

After some fun time together Matt, Abby, Matt's mom, and myself went on a walk by Big Bear Lake. It was so beautiful!




On Sunday (June 19th) Matt celebrated his first official Father's Day with his baby girl. Matt's brother and family came down from Big Bear and we enjoyed more time spent together.























On Monday (June 20th) Matt's parents surprised us with a trip down to San Diego to visit the San Diego Zoo! We were completely shocked and so excited!! We had so much fun with Abby looking at all the animals, it was a ball!

Monday night we stayed at a hotel in San Diego and the next day (Tuesday, June 21st) we went to Sea Port to look at the ocean and do some shopping at the cute stores there. It was such a beautiful day and though Abby wont remember this trip much it was fun to watch her experience all the new sights and sounds.





















Sadly on Wednesday (June 22nd) we needed to head back home. It's always such a bitter-sweet time coming home. We had such an amazing time, I can't even believe how lucky we are to have such unbelievable family!

5 Months Old!

Abby girl turns 5 months old this month and boy does she love to smile! Abby is constantly smiling, giggling, laughing and it's completely contagious! I know one of her talents is going to be making everyone she comes into contact happy and she is making a great start of it now. I dare you to stay in a bad mood after this little cute girl looks into your eyes and grins ear-to-ear. Her laugh is equally intoxicating and can make any crummy day just melt away.

Abby has completely mastered rolling over and has now started to "pre-crawl". She isn't quite moving around from room to room but with her rolling here and there and pushing herself around she is getting very close. She can hold her own bottle now though sometimes she gets lazy and mom has to. She is eating green beans, carrots, and squash and loves it!! One of my favorite things has been when we're holding her and she laughs or smiles and has to hide her face in your shoulder, so cute! We love our cute little baby and can't get enough of her!

I have been taking monthly pics since Abby was born and I usually will take a bunch and then decide on a favorite but there are just too many cute pics to choose from! Below are a couple from her 5-month mommy photo shoot...

The Boy Needed a Cut!

So usually I don't cut Matt's hair (because usually I butcher it so bad it turns into a buzz, lol!) but on Saturday it was so out of control I decided to give it another try...

Step 1: Figure out how I am going to even attempt to tame this crazy mane.

Step 2: Try to convince Matt the mohawk looks good (ya it didn't really work).

Step 3: Have a very happy hubby who loves his short hair! I think it turned out pretty good!!

Lazy Days of Summer...

I can't believe how much I have missed warm, wonderful, sunshine the last couple of days. It's been wonderful stepping outside and just basking in the sunlight. I love the summer and it's so nice it's finally decided to come!

We really haven't been up to much the last couple of weeks. Matt is still working full-time and going to school full-time. I can't believe how much he accomplishes and can't wait for him to graduate in less then a year. Matt just recently received his Associates degree in Accounting and so now both Matt and I have college degrees. I am keeping busy at work and though I wish I could just stay home all day with Abby I am so grateful I have my amazing job that pays the bills and is so good to me. Of course Abby is just growing up in front of our eyes. I can't believe how sweet and amazing my little girl is. She is getting such a cute little personality of her own and it's been so much fun to watch.
