Here Comes the Sun...
I know it's hard to believe but there was actually sunshine today! As I was walking to the water fountain at my work, about an hour ago, I noticed through these huge windows at the entrance that there was this thing that I hadn't seen in almost a week...the Sun! It was beautiful! Now you may find it strange that I call the sun beautiful but for those of us in Utah we haven't had much opportunity in the last couple of days to see the sun. It's like the sun has decided to ditch out on us and I almost forgot what it looks like...sad huh?! We've been having storm after storm after storm and it was like there was finally a break today, it was wonderful! I can't describe how amazing it truly was to look outside and see blue skies, a bright and beautiful sun, and just feel a little at peace with the world for not throwing another snow storm at us...for now. It may be silly but it truly made my day. YEA for sunshine, I've missed ya!!

"He Inspired & He Gave"
On Saturday the 12th my beloved Grandpa passed away surrounded in love by all his children and grandchildren. My Grandpa was like a second father to me, I will miss him so much. Grandpa was and is an amazing man, he was the most generous person I have ever met. I am so grateful for all he has done for me in my life: he gave so much so freely to me, he inspired me to do better and to reach for my goals, he inspired me to become the best person I can be and never settle for anything less then I deserve. Grandpa believed very strongly in school and education, he was able to take money that he had saved his whole life and pay for his grandchildren's education, I am forever in debt to him. He taught me to never get behind, to strive for excellence in all that I do, and I know that I will continue to do my best because of the values that he instilled in me. I am so grateful that my husband Matt had the opportunity to meet my Grandpa and become close to him. Matt's grandparents live in Michigan and so he doesn't have the opportunity to visit them nearly as often as my Grandpa, Grandpa Jim as been the closest thing Matt has had to a Grandpa and I am just so grateful they were able to know each other and become close. It's times like these that I am even more grateful for the Plan of Salvation and my faith, I know that I will see my Grandpa again and it brings so much peace to me. My Grandma passed away about 3 and half years ago and I can't express the happiness I feel when I think that my Grandparents are back together again and one day I will be with them too! My Grandpa will always be with me, pushing me to do better, loving me no matter what, and guiding me throughout life, thank you Grandpa!

Dang that's a lot of snow!
Ok, so this isn't actually my car covered in snow, though it does sort of resemble it, but this does show a little bit of how I felt this morning when I first saw my car covered in close to a foot of snow. I live about 5-7 mins away from my work and left around 8:30am but didn't even get to work until close to 8:50am. Luckily the roads weren't too bad with all the snow we got, I think what took the longest was scraping all the snow off my car. Craziness! We probably got a little more then a foot of snow (so far) today and it doesn't look like its going to stop anytime soon. I will admit it I am not a big snow fan, I use to really like the snow until I turned 16 and was forced to drive in it and it all went downhill from there. I think I handle snow a lot better now then the first few snow storms I had to drive through but it still makes me very nervous, not to mention the crazy drivers that make me even more nervous! We will just say that I am ready for spring right about now. I guess there are a couple of good things about winter time, I couldn't think of a whole lot but these two did jump out at me:Snowmobiling and Snowboarding!
(So this isn't a picture of me, obviously, but it does look like fun right?) I have been snowmobiling since I was a young child and I love it! My dad and I would go up almost every weekend. I must admit I haven't gone for a while but hopefully this winter I can take Matt out (who has never been snowmobiling) and we can have a good time! As for snowboarding it's sad to admit but I have never gone. Matt (who use to work at a Snow Resort) has decided to change that this year. We bought all the gear I need (even the snowboard!) and hopefully we can find some time this winter to get out. Wish us luck!
Cuddling in front of a cozy fireplace!
Maybe it's just the romantic in me but what's better then cuddling in front of a nice, warm, cozy, fireplace on a cold winter's night? Yeah I couldn't think of anything else either. I think this has to be one of the best perks of the winter time, unfortunately we don't have a fireplace so I guess we are kind of out of luck this winter. We could always cuddle in front of a heat vent but that just seems a wee bit uncomfortable.
It is kind of sad that I can only think of two winter perks but like I said before I am not a big winter fan. Just think only 70 more days until Spring, YEA!
