Do I really have to?

Well the time has come, whether I like it or not, to finally get my wisdom teeth out. I am getting the little guys out this Friday (I only have two thankfully, zero would have been better but hey it's not as bad as four right?!) and as each day approaches I get more and more nervous. I have never been a huge fan of the dentist (who is?) but this is going to be like ten times worse! My dentist (the very awesome Dr. Ashman) decided that it would be better for me to see an Oral Surgeon who is going to be knocking me out...oh joy! I have never had any kind of surgery (that I can remember...when I was little I got stitches but I don't think that counts since I don't remember) so I have never had to be "put under" and I am a little anxious about the whole thing. The part that scares me the most is waking up after the surgery and being all sleepy and confused and not knowing what's going on and just having a weird feeling (this is me assuming all this would happen since I don't really know). I am sure it will be better then what I picture but it still brings feelings of worry and stress to my mind. Hopefully everything goes well and the next time I write I will say how easy it was and totally not scary but for now I do have my fears, wish me luck!

My Love, Tag!

What is his name? Matthew Allen DeGriselles…but he just goes by Matt though he is very proud of the fact that his initials spell out MAD and since he is a little crazy (j/k) it works perfect!

How long did you date? We dated about 6 ½ months before we got married.

How old is he? 31

How old are you? 22 (a wee bit of an age difference I know…I guess I just like those older guys!)

Who eats more sweets? Matt shouldn’t be eating too much sweets (he is diabetic) so I would have to say I am probably the big sweets eater at our place though every once in a while Matt will sneak one in…silly guy!

Who said I love you first? I was thinking about this one and I really couldn’t remember…I remember I was waiting for Matt to say it first and if you ask him he would say he was waiting for me to say it first, I think we said it around the same time though.

Who is taller? Matt is taller but not by much…I like it that way, no having to go on my tippy-toes to give him a kiss ;)

Who can sing better? Wow that’s a tough one cause we are both pretty scary in the singing department, I would have to say that’s probably 50-50.

Who is smarter? I would say Matt but he would probably say me just because he is a pretty humble guy. Matt knows so many things about everything though it’s amazing! I think he get’s that from his Dad as well as from reading almost anything he can get his hands on.

Who does the laundry? We both do, I think I do it a little bit more often but he is just as willing to do it.

Who does the dishes? We both do as well.

Who pays the bills? Well we put both our money into the same account so we technically both pay the bills, but as far as writing out checks I am usually the one that does it…if it’s a bill that we pay over the phone Matt does (I don’t know how it worked out that way but it suits us just fine!)

His guilty pleasure: It would definitely be Diet Dr. Pepper! Matt loves the stuff, he is good about drinking a lot of water through out the day too but I think if he could drink dr. pepper all day he would.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Well if you are looking at the bed Matt sleeps on the right but if you are on the bed I sleep on the right so I guess we both do…hehe trick question!

Who mows the lawn? We have never lived anywhere with a lawn so neither of us, I imagine that when we get a house Matt will do the mowing but who knows?

Besides you, who is his best friend? That’s a tough one …I would have to say probably his brother Aaron.

Who cooks dinner? We both do…if Matt works late then I will cook but if I work late or have classes late then he does.

Who drives? Matt drives 95% of the time but every once in awhile I do. I don’t know why I like it so much when Matt drives but I just feel so safe and secure, it’s just so easy to lay back, relax, and fall asleep.

Who is more stubborn? We are both pretty stubborn when we want to be, I am not too sure who is more stubborn, depends on who you ask ;)

Who kissed who first? Matt kissed me first…hehe…it’s a funny story because he had taken me out to Traflaga (it was like our 3rd or 4th date) and the whole time I could tell he wanted to kiss me but I was so nervous that I didn’t really act like I wanted to kiss him even though I did. We got some ice cream and then he took me home. He walked me up to the door and then I just knew he was gonna kiss me and he did! It was a bit of an awkward kiss but special all the same, plus we had plenty of time to perfect it…and we did!

Who asked who out first? Matt and I actually met on ldssingles.com of all places (and no making fun! Two of my closest friends met and married guys from ldssingles so for some it does work) we had been talking online for only a week when I asked him if he wanted to meet up some time so I guess I technically asked Matt out first.

What was your first date? For our first date we went to Red Robin at the Provo Mall. I think it was my idea just because I love Red Robin so I thought it would be a fun place to meet (and a nice public place to meet, I mean I never met Matt before so I wanted to make sure we were somewhere open and public cause you never know…after meeting Matt I found out that he is the kindest, gentlest, warmest guy I know so any fears were for nothing!) after dinner we went to the movies and saw Fantastic 4. (It’s cute because I believe on our 6-month anniversary Matt took me to Red Robin’s and we watched Fantastic 4 just to be a little nostalgic) After the movie we both went our own ways but just before we left Matt gave me a simple and sweet little hug and I just knew that I wanted to see this guy again.

Who proposed? Matt proposed to me…about a month before he proposed we went on a little road trip with my two friends Ashley and Kathy to visit his family in Big Bear, California. After that trip I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and I had told him that I told Kathy that and that’s when we started talking about getting married. Ashley and I went to a jewelry store and picked out a ring that I liked not thinking Matt would propose that soon but after I found the ring that I really liked I showed Matt and he bought it for me that day. He didn’t just give me the ring right after he bought it, he wanted to officially propose to me. So at this time I knew he had the ring but I just didn’t know when I would get it, about a week (he didn’t make me wait too long…smart guy!) we were driving to my mom’s house on a Sunday and we decided to drive around Utah Lake, it was a cloudy day but it made the lake really beautiful because you couldn’t see any of the mountains in the background and it actually looked like we were looking into the ocean. Matt stopped the car and we both got out, I sort of had an idea that he was going to propose, he told me he had to do this the right way and then he got down on one knee and I remember I just couldn’t stop smiling. As they say the rest is history! It was a very nice proposal and I couldn’t ask for it to be any sweeter or romantic or wonderful! We got married a little less then 4 months later.

Who has more siblings? Matt does, he has 3 brothers and 2 sisters while I only have 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Who wears the pants? Neither of us, we are both pretty good at comprising and trying to do what’s best for the other.

What is your favorite thing about him? Wow there are just too many thing to put down…I would have to say though that one of my favorite things about Matt is that he always makes me smile! Even when I have had a horrible day or I feel like crap or I am dreading some test in one of my classes or I just am so grumpy and grouchy (as us girls can get from time to time) he can ALWAYS make me smile and laugh and giggle and I have no idea how he does it. Matt tries so hard to make me feel better and it just goes to show how unselfish he truly is. I love this man!

(thanks for tagging me Erin, these are always fun to do! I tag anyone who reads this and wants to put a spotlight on their love!)

A little silly but fun...

So my friend Erin had this posted on her blog and thought it was too silly to pass up, if anyone has a little free time on their hands feel free to do it for yourselves! Enjoy!

20 YEARS AGO- I was just chilling as a little 2 year old, I am not too sure what was going on in my life though I am sure I was causing all sorts of mischievousness though!

10 YEARS AGO- I was in 7th grade attending Payson Middle School. Middle School wasn’t really that bad but it wasn’t really that good either, just sorta in the middle. I had been in Young Women’s for over a year now so I already experienced my first year at girls camp which is one year too many! I was just a silly 12 yr. old, I loved biking, making movies, and just having fun with friends.

5 YEARS AGO- I was a senior at Payson High School. I actually really enjoyed high school, it seems like a lot of people didn’t really enjoy their high school days but mine were awesome. I had a very tight group of friends, we were a bit silly but very close which made my high school years that much better! We went to dances, movies, just hung out most of the time doing pretty much nothing but it was good, it was perfect for me!

3 YEARS AGO- I was living with my Grandpa Bergera up in American Fork, I was working at Wal-Mart and going to school at UVSC. I had dated a guy I met at Wal-Mart but luckily that ended soon cause he was sorta a dud and about 6 months after we broke up I met Matt and fell in love with him! Matt asked me to marry him in October which was amazing! By the end of the year we were planning the wedding and getting ready to start our life together!

1 YEAR AGO- Matt and I had just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! I was working (and still am) for Synergy World Wide, Matt was an intern at Wal-Mart and he was going to school as well. We traveled a lot last year, we went to Moab, Anaheim, Big Bear, Vegas, San Diego, Idaho, our cabin in the Boulder Mtns, just all over the place! My bud Ashley got married and Matt’s sister Allison got married (we were able to attend the wedding in the Redlands, CA temple, it was so beautiful!) and we had the chance to have Matt’s parents come down for the October Conference which was amazing to attend and see our Prophet at his last conference. All around last year was an amazing year!

SO FAR THIS YEAR- Well it’s been a pretty crazy year…in January Matt was promoted to an Assistant Manger (a position he had been working really hard to obtain), I went to the E.R. after I was up all night feeling like crap with a killer stomach ache that wouldn’t go away (all is better for now) a week later my Grandpa Bergera passed away, it was sudden but luckily we all had the opportunity to be there in the hospital with him when he passed away and say our goodbyes, later in that month Matt and I moved in to my Grandpa’s house to save a little rent and keep the place looking nice, in February I found out that one of my bud Ashley is going to have a baby in early September and I couldn’t be more excited for her! Yea!! Also Matt and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary at the Anniversary Inn (hehe we’re cheesers!).

YESTERDAY- I came home from my families annual Moab reunion minus one hubby, Matt wasn’t able to go down this year (things were just too crazy at work) so coming home to wrap my arms around him was amazing! He wasn’t able to sleep too well while I was gone so as soon as I got home he took a nap while I unpacked and played a little Guitar Hero 3. When Matt finally woke up we cooked a little dinner, watched some tv and cuddle all night, it was perfect night!

TODAY- Well today isn’t too exciting, Matt and I had to be to work at the same time today (a rare thing for us) so we woke up together and got ready together which was nice, I’ve been working all day and then once I get off at 6 I will head to the gym for an hour, force myself to do some physical activity and then I will head to my Math class…get a nap in (j/k I would never sleep in class…hehe) and an hour after that I can finally head home! Matt gets off at 9 tonight so I might just beat him home! I will probably grab something to eat and then fall asleep so I can get a little rest before my morning class tomorrow.

TOMORROW- Speaking about tomorrow…tomorrow I have my Geology class at 7 am (I dread thinking about getting up that early even now!) and then work after that, I am taking a half day tomorrow so I get off at 1 and then I will take my car into the shop for a wee bit, then gym and math class, home around 9, a little dinner, and sleep! Phew!

2 years and counting!

It's crazy to believe but Matt and I have actually been married for 2 years already! Sometimes it seems like the time just flies by and other times I can't even remember a point when I wasn’t with Matt. The last two years have been the most amazing, crazy, wonderful, beautiful two years of my life and I wouldn’t trade them for a thing! Matt and I were married Friday, February 24th, 2006 in the beautiful Mount Timpanogas Temple in American Fork, Utah. I don’t remember every little detail from that day, most of it is a blur, but some of the small things stick out like getting up early to get my hair cut and hoping I would make it back to my grandpa’s house before we needed to go to the temple, the feeling of excitement as we came out of the temple doors to visit with family and friends and the love I felt there, taking what seemed like a billion pictures in front of the temple in every which pose humanly possible (that I love looking at now), having a beautiful reception that my mom is wholly responsible for and who I can’t thank enough, having my closest three friends as my bridesmaids with me and supporting me, and reading the amazing and beautiful letters that both my Grandma’s wrote to me (both of them passed away before the time of my wedding but wrote the letters years earlier) and feeling their sweet spirit with me even if they were unable to be there in person (my favorite gift I received). So many more things made up my wedding day, cake, food, a beautiful white dress, flowers, gifts, but the most amazing thing was being sealed for all time and eternity to my best friend Matthew Allen DeGriselles. It’s hard to express it in words the way I feel for Matt and the love I have towards him, he is the most amazing, beautiful, kind, gentle, loving, silly, extraordinary man I know and I am so grateful that I am him in my life and that I get to tell him “I love you” everyday!

Ok so enough of that mushy stuff…this year to celebrate our anniversary Matt and I went up to Salt Lake City and stayed at the beautiful Anniversary Inn. For those of you who have not stayed there or even heard of the hotel it’s a beautiful little bed and breakfast in downtown Salt Lake City with silly but cute themed rooms. They have rooms from Jungle Safari to Romeo and Juliet, from Swiss Family Robinson to Jackson Hole Retreat. It’s just a silly fun place to go if you just wanna take a break from the real world and have a romantic little get-a-way. After we got married we didn’t have our official honeymoon until April but the day after the wedding we went up to the Anniversary Inn so it was quite appropriate to go back. This year we stayed in the “Treasure Island” suite. The room was shaped like you were on the deck of a pirate ship with the walls painted blue to look like sky touching the ocean, you felt like you were actually on a pirates ship (with a little imagination) and it was quite the fun room to stay in. The following day Matt and I both had the day off from work so we decided to do a little in-door rock climbing at the Quarry in Provo. It was a blast! I forgot how much I truly love rock climbing, I am already feeling the itch to get back! After that we went out to dinner at a new favorite restaurant of ours a small Italian restaurant in Provo called “La Dolce Vita” and it was so good! Overall we had an amazing anniversary! I would definitely say the best part was spending so much time with my amazing hubby and knowing that we have many, many years of amazing anniversaries to come!!

"This school is tough, it will challenge your brain, your mind, and your head."

After taking a much needed and appreciated 2-year break from school the time has come for me to strap on the backpack and get back into the swing of things. This semester I only signed up for 2 classes but they are keeping me way busy! I am taking a Math class Mon.-Thurs. evenings from 7:30-8:35pm and then a Geology class Tues. and Thurs. mornings from 7-8:15am. I just need to get these couple of generals (I have about 5 left) out of the way and then I will never have to think about them again! I am also very happy to report that I am doing very well in both classes. In the past I haven't done as well as I would like so the fact that this semester is going so well has given me a huge boost of energy to just keep pushing through school and eventually get my bachelors degree. It's actually pretty fun going to class...discussing ideas and concepts with my peers and learning some pretty amazing stuff. I even had a girl in my math class ask if I could tutor her sometime, for me that's pretty awesome since I have never been good at math but it seems like now it's finally starting to click and I couldn't be more happy! As to what I would like to major in that's still to be decided but it just feels so good to get back out there and continue to learn and keep moving forward!
