My Silly Baby Girl!

Our sweet (and silly) baby girl has been sleeping in her crib all night and it's been amazing! We were pretty naughty parents and let Abby sleep with us for her first couple of months but we've been working really hard on getting her to sleep in her crib and she has been doing an amazing job. She will usually just wake up once (though a couple of times she has slept all the way through the night) and I just couldn't be prouder of her.

She rolls around like crazy now and so it's been really fun in the morning to look in on Abby and find her in some of the silliest positions...

We think she likes being cuddled up next to something because she is always in the corner or in the side of her crib. It was a little scary when I walked in to her bedroom and found her like this. Once I realized that she was in fact breathing I could relax a little and find the humor in her silly sleeping position. (5/15/2011)

This is how I found Abby this morning, once again all cuddled up to the side of her crib but this time with her hand hanging down. I feel bad when she does this because her hand gets really cold but not sure what to do. She does look really adorable. (5/19/2011)

My Birthday!

Today (May 13th) is my 26th Birthday and my amazing hubby spoiled me like crazy! He woke me up at 6am (we had to be to work by 8am so it wasn't that mean) and gave me gifts galore. I have to admit though I think I am enjoying my ipod touch the most! I never knew how much fun it could be, I love it! I've already downloaded several apps and have way more music then my super old ipod could ever hold and I have still have so much more room left. I was completely surprised by the gift and Matt really made my day.

My favorite present by far! It's hard to believe that a year ago I didn't even know this little girl was going to be a part of my life (though I found out about a week later, lol!)

Hmmm...an itunes card, could this be a clue for one of the presents Matt got me?

I eyed this book about 6 months ago and Matt remembered, very cute!

Gotta be the best birthday ever!

We both had to work but after we enjoyed some dinner at Tucano's in Provo (highly recommended but a little expensive). After dinner we enjoyed some free time (which is quite rare for new parents who work full time and go to school) and checked in at our hotel for the night. I have to stay I have the most amazing family in the world for watching Abby the night of my birthday so Matt and I could have a little get-a-way, it was wonderful! We stayed at the Cottontree Inn in Provo right by the river and so we decided to go on a little walk. With all the rainy weather lately I am so glad it was so bright and sunny and warm on my birthday, it was perfect!

At the hotel they had this little walkway above the stairs which reminded me of Romeo and Juliet, lol.

The hotel had a ton of really amazing pieces of art hanging up all over. It was almost like we were staying in a museum, very cool!

The next day Matt had to work so Ryan and I went up to Salt Lake City and spent the day with Chelsie and my Aunt Cathy and her kids. It was so much fun watching them play with Abby, she is a very loved little girl! My uncle Paul and uncle Larry were also there with their motorcycles and we got this really cute picture with Abby and Paul....



We had a great day and on Sunday we enjoyed birthday dinners at the Texas Roadhouse in Orem. We were celebrating my mom's birthday (May 10th), mine (May 13th), and Wes's (May 24th). We had some really amazing food and great company.




Overall I had one of the best birthdays I can remember. Even though the new ipod was more then I could have ever asked for and the get-a-way was so perfect, I have to admit all I really need to make my birthday the best ever is to hold my baby girl and hubby in my arms. These two people (and countless other family and friends) make my life the most wonderful thing in the world. I sometimes can't believe how truly blessed I really am!

4 Months Old!

Abby girl is growing up in front of our eyes! Every time I look at her it's like she is getting bigger and smarter and cuter and I love it! My baby girl is 4 months old today and the old cliche is true "time flies when you're having fun"! It rattles my brain every time I think about quickly she is growing and changing.

Abby has mastered rolling over from both her stomach to her back and her back to her stomach and just wont stop. She is laughing and giggling and smiling like crazy and loves to "coo". Abby can grab things (which I am learning can be fun but dangerous too when you are eating dinner or have your hair too close). Abby loves to go swimming and just loves water in general. Bath time is her new favorite time of the day!

Abby's 4-month checkup went great! Here are her stats...she weighs 14.9lbs which puts her in the 71st percentile, she is 25" tall which puts her in the 77th percentile and her head circumference is 16.5" which is in the 76th percentile. She is one well rounded little girl!

Hard to describe...

It's hard for me to describe how amazing it is to be a mom. There's really nothing like holding your brand new baby and realizing you never new how much you could love another human being. It's hard though as well. Sleepless nights trying to get your baby to fall asleep and the complete 180 your life does. It really is a labor of love you wouldn't trade for anything.

Right around the time Abby turned 2 months old she started smiling and I can't even put into words how beautiful it is to watch your baby smile. Newborns don't really smile (well at least Abby never did) and since Abby has started to smile it's been a whole new world for us. It's amazing to watch her smile at me and Matt as soon as we come into a room. She looks at me and realizes it's her mommy and a huge grin comes upon her face and melts my heart. When she first started smiling it was a hit and miss kind of thing but now all we have to do is say "hi" and it's like we've made her whole world. She starts into a huge grin and then laughs and laughs and I feel like every dumb or stupid thing I've done in my life has been washed away as she looks at me and sees me. She sees her mommy who will never stop loving her, never stop wanting to make her happy and it's one of the greatest feelings I've ever had. My baby girl knows who her mommy is and I think that's pretty amazing!

My lil' Swimmer!

On Saturday April 30th we took Abby girl for her very first time swimming, she loved it! She didn't splash around as much as I thought (probably still too small) but she did have fun. Chelsie and Ryan went swimming with us (Chelsie let us use the pool at her condo, thanks sis!) and we had so much fun!

My baby girl and her cute little swimsuit! I didn't think Abby could get any cuter and then she gets into this swimsuit and ya it's pretty much the cutest thing ever!

Getting into the pool Abby wasn't quite sure what the big yellow thing was for until...

...we plopped her inside of it and then she was in heaven! She floated in this and I've never seen her so content and relaxed, it was wonderful!

We swam for almost an hour and as soon as got home Abby (and myself, lol) slept for about 4 hours, what a perfect day!
